I Want You To Know

When some people are sad they tend to cry,
Or chug down bottles of red wine,
But my tears are in the shape of poetry lines.

I stopped crying a while ago,
For people said I was weak,
Just because I couldn't hold back,
The water streaming down my cheek.

So my cheeks remain dry,
But my heart is still cold,
Still scared of crying,
Because of what I was told.

So now I am here,
Sitting in my bed,
Pen and paper in hand,
Writing thoughts in my head.

It gives me a release,
Of the emotions I feel,
Puts my mind at peace,
Until I heal.

But wounds can be healed,
And still leave scars,
I even have proof right on my arms.

But something poetry doesn't provide,
Is explaining my sadness,
Like it would've if I cried,
Because these poems stay inside.

The people who read don't know my name,
It's anonymous,
But I like it that way.

They still know more about me,
Than most people do,
Because all my emotions,
I'm explaining to you.

Poetry is my life,
It's what I'm dedicated to,
And so I'm sharing part of my life with you.

I hope you know how important you are,
Cuz every time you read one of my poems,
Or hit that little star,
You just made my happiness,
Not seem as far.

You help me realize,
That I don't need to say my name,
To change a few lives.

So even though you guys are few,
That's totally fine,
But I want you to know,
That I'm saying thank you.

Oh and I also want you to know,
That as long as I'm here you'll never be alone.
