{ Hannah }

"A what?" I looked at my best friend, Grace, shocked and a little mad,

"A blind date," Grace told me, "It'll be fun"

I groaned and flopped on my bed, trying not to be too loud considering my toddler is taking a nap in the next room,

"Han, it's time to get out there" she sat down next to me. Grace has been trying to get me to get back out into the dating world for quite some time now. After my last relationship, the relationship with my son's father, I basically shut guys and any thoughts of relationships out.

My last relationship was an absolute disaster. He was manipulative and mentally abusive. I just never had the guts to stand up for myself. So I let it go on. Then I got pregnant. Nobody was happy about it, except for me. I was excited. I have always wanted to be a mom. It happened earlier than I expected, but I was still happy.

Then one day, while I was eight months pregnant, I came home to the shared apartment and found all my stuff and all the baby's stuff in front of the door with a note telling me to not come back. A week later, my son, Cason, was born and I was living with Grace. I got myself on my feet and bought a house in Santa Monica where Cason and I now live.

So I've been hesitant in the dating game.

"Where did you even hear about this guy?" I asked,

"One of my clients. It's his friend"

I nodded. Grace is a hairdresser and does a lot of big-name people's haircuts,

"So is this dude famous? You do a lot of celebrity haircuts" I asked,

"I don't know" she shrugged, playing it off. I nodded,

"When is this date?" I sighed,

"Saturday night"

My eyes widened,

"I have to get a babysitter Grace. I can't do that on such short notice" I stood,

"Relax" she stood too, grabbing my hands, "I'm going to watch Cason"

I took a breath,

"Look, it's one date. If you don't have fun, you don't have to see the guy again. But personally, I think you'll have a good time" she told me,

"When do I bring up the fact I have a kid?" I sat back down on my bed,

"When you feel it's right"

I nodded,

"Okay. Tell whoever I'll go" I gave in, "Can you tell me anything about this guy?"

"He's tall, like six feet tall, and definitely cute. He's a car guy" she said, and I expected her to go on, but she didn't,

"That's it?"

"You'll have to find more out in your date. He knows your name but that's it. So he'll be on the lookout for some girl looking around"

I rolled my eyes,

"Thanks for this. I know I don't seem too excited but I appreciate you" I hugged my friend,

"Of course. I just want you to try and open up some"

"A blind date?" I quirked an eyebrow as Calum told me what I was doing Saturday night,

"Yeah. You need to get out there pal" he patted my shoulder. I wasn't against the blind date idea. I just didn't expect Calum to plan one for me,

"And how did you find this girl for me to go with?" I asked. I was a little curious especially when he told me she wasn't in the public eye,

"The girl that cuts my hair. It's her friend"

I nodded,

"The girl's name is Hannah. She's a good person from what I know. Grace has told me all about her, but I won't be telling you because you get to figure it out for yourself"

I laughed but smiled,

"This will be fun" I grinned, genuinely excited for this,

"It will. Just be nice"

I promised him I would and was now anxiously waiting for Saturday night.
