{ Ashton }

I slowly opened my eyes as I woke up. I tightened my arm around Hannah, pulling her a little closer to my chest. I took a glance over her and saw Cason tucked up into her. He hasn't been sleeping on the little cot. I don't blame him though. That night I slept on it, my back was killing me the next morning.

Hannah shuffled in my arms, and her head turned in my direction. A sleepy smile appeared on her face as our eyes met,

"Good morning" she whispered

"Good morning" I smiled, pecking her lips softly. She pulled away and stretched out before carefully sitting up so that she didn't wake Cason,

"Wanna grab some coffee?" I asked. Hannah nodded and we carefully slipped out of bed and into the main area of the cabin. We were the only ones up so we quietly grabbed some coffee and headed out on the back porch.

I took a seat first and Hannah sat in my lap. Once settled, I draped the blanket we brought out over us.

It was quiet out. All you could hear were birds chirping and our sipping of coffee,

"You know the conversation we had in the car on the way up here?" Hannah spoke, her head leaning back so she could see me,

"Yeah" I nodded, "I wasn't trying to impose. I'm sorry for over-"

"Ash, you're right. I need to end it" she sighed out, catching me off guard,

"Yeah? What came to that conclusion?" I asked and placed a kiss on her head,

"Cason said something when I was giving him a bath a night or two ago. He told me they talk bad to him about me. He told me they're mean to him and they call him names and stuff. He told me they call him stupid all the time"

I nodded. To an outsider, you'd think that she's crazy for ending a relationship with family over that. But there's so much more to it that has been bundling up since she was a kid.

"Do what you think is best for you two. I don't want you to feel like I pressured this or anything" I told her,

"I know it's best for me and Cason. I should have done it a long time ago. I guess I didn't because I didn't have anyone but them. I didn't want Cason to not have a family" she told me, laying her head back against my shoulder,

"He will always have a family and so will you. Me, the boys, the girls, Grace- we're your family"

Hannah smiled and turned more to me. I quickly moved our coffee cups away and hugged her,

"I know it hasn't been long, but you're probably one of the best things that's happened to me- after Cason of course" she spoke, hugging me with her face in my neck,

"You're the best thing that's happened to me in quite some time too. Cason is a bonus"

I could feel her smile and hold on to me a little tighter,

"You're amazing"

"I think it's the other way around"
