{ Ashton }

"I heard you've got yourself a girlfriend" my mom smirked as she glared at me through the phone screen. I do my best to talk to her and my siblings often but sometimes that doesn't happen. Recently it hasn't been often,

"I do" I grinned, "How'd you know?"

"Well Luke had told Liz and Liz told me when we all went to lunch"

I felt bad that she heard it from someone that wasn't me,

"Well, her name is Hannah. She's gorgeous Mum" I grinned, "She's a financial advisor for law firms-so she's like smart"

"Well you are glowing talking about her" my mom chuckled,

"She's also a mom" I spoke. My mom nodded and I could tell she was thinking,

"How old is her child?" she asked,

"He's three. And he's so cute and funny"

My mom smiled,

"You were that age when your dad left" she spoke sadly, "Is the dad in the picture? Because there's a lot that comes along with that"

"No" I shook my head, "He ended things before her son was born"

My mom nodded. I understand why she is a tad worried. She's been in Hannah's shoes twice,

"Everything is good Mum. Her son, Cason, really likes me. I like him too. He's an amazing kid and Hannah's an amazing mom. She reminds me of you. She's strong. She had to get through something on her own with a kid"

"I see that" she smiled, "I'm glad you have found someone that is making you this giddy this fast. Just be a good guy and don't give her a reason to not trust you"

"I know Mum" I nodded, "I know"

{ Hannah }

The knock on the door grabbed my attention immediately. I honestly had no idea who it could be. It's the middle of the day. Grace is at work and Ashton was busy today so I really couldn't think of who it could be.

I got up from my spot on the couch where I was doing work just as Cason ran around the corner from his room,

"Is it Ashy?" he bounced behind me as I headed to the door,

"I don't know buddy" I laughed. I unlocked the door and pulled it open, my mouth dropping,

"Morgan" I gasped and jumped forward, bringing my best friend into a hug. Morgan has been my best friend since birth. Our dads were best friends so that's how we are connected. But, I haven't seen her in quite some time since she's off working for Google,

"Oh my god! What are you doing here?" I asked as we pulled back and Cason attached to my legs,

"A girl can't come and see her best friend" she laughed. I was just smiling. I've really missed her.

We walked inside and Cason was still attached to my legs, obviously unsure of Morgan. It was understandable since he has never met her- well, he has but he doesn't remember.

"Cas, this is Aunt Morgan. You've met her before but you were super little" I told him as the three of us sat on the couch,

"I remember when you were a tiny baby. You're not a baby anymore" Morgan spoke with a smile,

"I big kid" Cason giggled and looked up at me, "I go play?"

"Go play" I laughed and let him run off to his room,

"So girl" Morgan cheese once Cason had run off, "What's new?"

I chuckled and took a breath,

"I've got a boyfriend"

Morgan's mouth dropped and she looked offended,

"And you didn't tell me? GIRL?! Is he cute?" she pressed,

"Very" I nodded, "His name is Ashton. He's a drummer in a band. He's already met Cas and everything. He is so good with Cason and he so so sweet"

Morgan was just smiling,

"It's about time you found someone who makes you smile so big. I haven't seen that smile since before high school"

I nodded. Grace had said something similar. They were happy to see me truly smiling again,

"Cason loves Ashton. Ashton seems to love Cason too. He never complains when Cason asks to play, instead will stop whatever he's doing and play with him. He actually gave up going to a party to go trick-or-treating with us" I told her,

"That's so cute" she gushed, "So far, he seems like a keeper"

I smiled. Ashton is probably the best guy I've met- and we still barely know each other. I've never dated a guy who is so sweet and understanding. I do think the fact that he has a single mom helped the understanding part,

"All I've ever wanted was to see you happy" Morgan hugged me quickly, "Are you taking him with you to Thanksgiving?"

"He is going with us then after we're going to a cabin. He invited Cason and me to join his friends at this cabin. So we're going to Thanksgiving then going there"

I will say, this trip will be the true test. I'll get to see how we are being together for more than twenty-four hours,

"I truly hope everything works out and stays good like they are because you're happy and you haven't been in a long time" Morgan smiled,

"I am happy and it feels amazing"
