{ Ashton }

"Alright, I'm getting out of here guys" I stood and collected my backpack, retrieving my car keys from the front pocket before stretching,

"You're coming to the Halloween party tonight right?" Michael asked,

"I am but not until later" I informed, ready for more questions to follow,

"Why?" Luke narrowed his eyes,

"Because I'm going to Hannah's and going with her to take her son trick-or-treating"

The boys all scoffed. They're mad they are my second choice tonight. I didn't originally plan to go trick-or-treating with Cason and Hannah tonight, but Cason had called the other night and asked me to come with them. I couldn't say no even though Hannah told me it was okay if I didn't want to.

"Look, you all wanted me to get a girlfriend, and now that I have one you're all pissed because I can't do everything with you all anymore"

"I'm kinda surprised you kept going after her after finding out she had a kid" Calum shrugged which confused me because he knew before me,

"Why would I not?" I narrowed my eyes,

"Because that's a big commitment Ash and you don't like being committed"

I sucked in a breath and put my backpack on,

"It's not that I don't like commitment, I hadn't found someone to commit to and I have now. So lay off and quit talking shit" I huffed, "I'm not coming to the party tonight"

With that, I headed out the door and got into my car. I put my key in the ignition and started the vehicle, then got my playlist set up and playing. Right before I put the car in drive, I texted Hannah and let her know I was on my way.

{ Hannah }

Ashton should be here any minute. He told Cason he'd go trick-or-treating with us and I felt bad. I know he was supposed to go to a party with his friends and I felt bad taking him away from that. I also don't want his friends to hate me for taking him away from them.

As Cason ran around the house, dressed as Spider-Man, there was a ring of the doorbell. I knew it was either Ashton or the pizza I had ordered when Ashton told me he was on his way.  I headed over to the door and opened it, revealing Ashton holding the pizza,

"Ran into the pizza guy as I pulled in. I went ahead and tipped him" Ashton spoke as I stepped aside and let him in. I nodded but didn't say anything. I was trying to read him. He looked a little mad but was trying to cover that with his usual smile,

"Are you okay?" I asked, closing the door. Ashton looked at me and nodded,

"Yeah" he spoke then kissed my lips. He pulled away just as Cason ran in,

"Ashy!" he grinned. I quickly grabbed the pizza box as Ashton knelt down to hug my son. That was when I noticed he had a backpack with him. Was he planning on staying the night?

"Hey dude! You look super cool" Ashton gasped. Cason giggled and pulled away from their hug and showed Ashton how Spider-Man shoots webs,

"How about we eat some pizza then we can go get candy" I suggested, making Cason gasp and run off to the kitchen. Ashton chuckled and stood, taking off his backpack and setting it next to the couch,

"Hey" I grabbed Ashton's hand before we headed off to the kitchen, "Are you sure you're okay?"
