Chapter Thirty-Nine

Tony attempted to lunge for Bucky, making him raise his gun instantly and Cassie step in front of him protectively.

"It wasn't him." Cassie tried to reason with the man, "Yeah that may have been him in the video, but he wasn't in control of his body." She conjured the bow out of her hand showing that she wouldn't attack him "Please, you can't kill him. He's all I have left." She knew she had Steve, but she still didn't fully remember Steve, she remembers more of Bucky and had been with him longer.

Tony took a moment, he barely knew the woman. He knew she was just as dangerous as he was, if not more dangerous. But she didn't kill his parents. Cassie could feel Bucky starting at her nervously. 

Tony shook his head and lunged at Bucky again, with a split second Cassie's bow was in her hands again. "Tony, Tony." Steve grabbed the billionaires bicep pulling him back slightly.

Tony turned to face the blond with a frown and eyes that were holding back tears. He paused before asking the question he had been dreading.

"Did you know?"

"I didn't know it was him." Steve lied, attempted to cover for his friend.

Cassie could felt someone at her head, and she knew it was Bucky, so she let him in. "Get out of here and go to the Quinjet." He ordered, 

"I can't leave you, love." She didn't even turn around to face him, she kept a watchful eye on the blond and brunette. 

"You can, and you will." Bucky's voice in her head was sharp and demanding. 

Cassie looked over her shoulder with her eyebrows pulled together ever so slightly. "Please, Jamie, I can help you."

"You promises me you would get out of here only a few minutes ago." He reminded her. Cassie lowered her head and let a sigh out. Cassie wasn't to protest but Bucky's voice came again. "Get back to the Quinjet." He demanded again "Do you understand?"

She nodded her head looking back up at her. "If you need me, just contact me." She reminded him. 

Bucky was about to respond but was distracted by Tony yelling. "Don't bullshit me, Rogers! Did you know?" Tony snapped, gripping onto Steve's bicep.

Steve sighed before he whispered "Yes." 

At that word, Tony realised Steve from his grasp and stepped back. Tony raised his hand and a blast from his suit sent Steve back. Bucky raised his gun only for him to be disarmed. Cassie held up her bow and released an electric arrow, hoping to at least shock the suit. But it did nothing.

"Get to the Quinjet," Bucky shouted towards Cassie. Bucky knew he was probley best to keep her here so she could help with the fight. But he wouldn't be able to forgive himself if she got hurt, or worse died.

Tony flew toward Bucky and stood on his metal arm. Cassie knew that the best thing to do was to go. If Bucky wasn't constantly looking around for her during the fight he wouldn't be distracted.
