What If

Part Eight

Originally, the bride is just alone in her bridal car, or she's with her parents or his dad alone. But in our case, Aunt Nina asked me if I can accompany her in her bridal car going to church.

While En route to the church, my aunt is so quiet and just fidgeting her fingers. I even heard her sigh every now and then since we left the house. I think she's nervous, so I held her hands just to somehow calm her, I immediately felt how cold it was. She looked at me flustered.

"Relax aunt." I said. I even smile at her. She smiled back at me and hold my hands tightly.

" Ang bilis ng tibok ng puso ko, ito ba yung hindi nila maexplain na feeling? basta alam ko sobrang saya ko, na parang maiiyak na ko pero wala pa eh, ang oa ko naman, nasa sasakyan pa lang naiiyak na ko. Pero parang sasabog na rin yung puso ko sa bilis ng tibok nito." dire diretsong sabi niya.

Nakangiti lang ako, hindi ko alam kung anong sasabihin ko. Hindi ko pa naman kasi nararanasan yan . Hinaplos haplos ko na lang yung kamay niya. Sa tuwing napapatingin ako sa mata niya, kitang kita ko yung kislap, ganun ba talaga kapag sobrang saya?

Nakikita ko naman sila, noon pa, lalo na nitong mga nakaraang linggo habang naghahanda kami sa kasal nila. Kitang kita ko yung excitement sa mga mata nila. Pero ngayon, looking at Aunt Nina, parang mas nakita ko kung gaano niya kamahal si Uncle Donny.Kita ko kung gaano siya kahanda na magsimula ng bagong yugto sa buhay niya kasama ni Uncle Donny.

Kitang kita ko sa mata nya yung kaba, pero andun pa rin yung pagmamahal. Yung excitement na, ilang minuto na lang makikita niya na yung taong mahal niya, inaantay siya sa harap ng altar at handang handa nang harapin ang susunod na kabanata ng buhay nila ng magkasama.

"Andito na tayo!" nakangiting sabi ko kay Auntie Nina, nang tumigil na ang sinasakyan namin. Hudyat na nakarating na kami.

Ngumiti lang si Auntie Nina sa akin. She took a deep breath first then look outside of the car. I open the car's window when the organizer knocked.

"Ready?" nakangiting tanong niya habang nakatingin sa katabi ko.

Napatingin ako kay Auntie Nina na nagbuntong hininga nanaman pagtapos ay hinawakan ang kanyang dibdib na para bang pinapakalma ang kaniyang puso.

"Let's do this!" sagot niya na ikinangiti namin ng organizer. Binuksan ko na ang pinto ng bridal car at akmang baba na ko nang napatigil ako, dahil hinawakan niya bigla ang braso ko, kaya napatingin ako sakanya.

"Bakit?" tanong ko.

"Thank you." she simply said in all sincerity. I smiled and hug her, trying my best not to cry.

Auntie Nina, kahit pamangkin niya ko lumaki akong para lang kaming magbarkadang dalawa. Nakikwento ko sakanya halos lahat well, except yung about kay Ethan and ganun din siya sa akin. I know everything about her, the struggles, love problems, everything! I even witnessed all her failed relationship and how it affects and broke her.

She's been through a lot, I've seen her in her darkest time. That's why seeing how happy she is right now got me so emotional, because I know she deserve all of this. I am just so happy that after all her sacrifices, she finally got her happy ending. She finally found the one.

Uncle Donny is her answered prayer. The right one for her. They found each other unexpectedly, when they are not even searching at all. I've witnessed the love they have for each other and the struggles they've been through before getting to where they are right now. I am beyond happy and thankful that despite of different kinds of challenges, relationship obstacles and everything, they don't give up on each other. They still choose love over everything, they chose to stay with each other and now, we're all here witnessing the love that they will promise to hold until the end of their lifetime.
