"Wine? Red or white?" I shout to Miles and Louis who are sitting on my couch in the living room. They became really good friends of mine and also the only two friends I have. I've been in New York for 2 months now and I think I'm getting my life back. A steady life. Everything is back to normal like how it was when I still lived in Texas. Only this time alone, no husband.

"Red wine babes" he says while looking through my apartment.

"I saw you last week you know" he looks at me with a devilish look, like I did something bad and it's making me nervous for no reason.

"You saw me where?" I say while he stands up to help me in the kitchen with snacks while I'm putting my focus on the wine bottle.

"I saw you getting in the car with McFuckme when you left my coffeeshop" he leans against the kitchen counter while I'm still struggling with this goddamn bottle.

"No we're not doing this 'Grey's anatomy' nicknames. You're not calling him that"

"Isn't that the guy from the bar?" I hear Louis saying who's still sitting on the couch.

Miles turns around to face him and then back to me. "The guy from the bar, the guy from the hospital..." he walks back to sit next to Louis on the couch.

"Oh common he just offered me a ride, that's all" I say, finally got this bottle open.  "It was late and cold and it was just a Thankyou for helping him with his hand after my shift" I pour three glasses of red wine and join them on the couch.

"No guy in the world, is bringing a girl home just because she stitched his hand Candace, it's your job. Are you accepting every ride from everyone who you operated now?"

"Maybe he felt guilty for hitting my nose at the bar?"
I'm trying to find excuses because there's no way in hell that McFu- James likes me. He doesn't even know me that well.

"Still no reason to bring you all the way out of the city Candy"

I take a big sip of my wine and just keep staring at the black screen on my tv. "There's nothing going on between us, we're not even friends. I don't think we are"

"I fixed his hand, he brought me home that's it, we're nothing more then acquaintances, now can we stop talking about his stupid hand because I did three surgeries today, nothing compared with his baby cut"

"Alright Mrs. 'can't admit he's hot' whatever you say" Miles says while looking away from me.

"Thankyou" I say with a satisfied look because I don't wanna talk about James and his perfectly hair and soft hands.

After a long talk with Miles and Louis about everything I give them a tour of my small apartment. It's not much but it's enough. The biggest room of my apartment is my practice room, I like to practice surgeries on silicone body's, it sounds weird and creepy but it's not. It really helps... silicone brains, hearts and everything. We walk in the hallway when I see Miles looking at a photo book under the side table.

"What's this?" He says while grabbing a photo book. my wedding album. I grab it out of his hand a little too late when he looks at me with confusing in his eyes.

"You're married?" I hear Louis say who's standing next to me.

"No." I put my wedding album back under the table and walk away "Not anymore".

"Candace talk to us....." I can hear them grabbing the book back and follow me to the living room again.

Louis walks up to me and takes a seat next to me on the couch. "You got divorced?"
