Akara

I couldn't enter the house immediately. As it would be the last time I would see Rune, I tried to make my heart ready. I strolled around the house, sadness emitting from my every pore.

When I felt myself ready for the thunder, I went inside the house, but Rune wasn't there. As I waited for him, I stuffed my belongings into the very same luggage I came with, but now my things didn't fit in it. Rune bought too many things for me...

Sighing, I put the things Rune bought on to the bed, and then everything fit. With hesitation, I looked at the silver bracelet around my wrist; it was Rune's birthday gift for me. Morally, I had to leave it behind like the other things, but I wanted to have a memento from him. Something to remind me of him.

As I unfolded my sleeve to cover the bracelet, Rune stormed in probably after confronting his father.

He begged me to tell him that I didn't do it with tears in his eyes, but I told him everything. He kept denying, so I had to mock him.

"Your father is nothing more than a murderer and you are his pathetic son."

I wanted him to hate me because I hated myself. I wanted him to accuse me, put all the blame on me so that he wouldn't be hard on himself. However, no matter how much I tried, his expression was hurt and sad, rather than angry.

"No... don't say that...didn't you like me any? Everything you did cannot be a part of a revenge plan, right?" he asked me with hope, so I had to hit the deathblow before I bawled my eyes out, asking for forgiveness for my despicable act.

"I didn't like you, even the slightest. All was for the plan."

I did expect Rune to be shocked, but I didn't expect a nosebleed. With terror, I watched him turn his back to me, but before he could go away, he swayed backwards, fainted. Before he hit the floor, I secured him in my arms and carried his fragile body to his car. Once done, I hit the gas and drove to the City Hospital with a madly speed.

Luckily, Rune's condition wasn't serious, he just fainted out of stress. While his doctor was attending him, I went to donate blood for some emergency injections as well as for his regular transfusion which was due three months' later. Then I called Som and called him to the hospital before going back to Rune's private room.

My poor baby was lying on the bed lifelessly, his complexion as white as the sheet underneath him.

Caressing his soft hair, I whispered "I am so sorry for everything, but please hate me, hate me with all your heart, so you can move forward."

Even though I knew I didn't have the right, I leaned forward and stole a farewell kiss from his cold lips. Then I left the room and closed the door behind me.

Goodbye, Rune... I wish we could meet in a different life...
