Josephine
I am holding my bag tightly around me and pulling my shorts down that are Mercy's that I wore to cheer. Hero grabs my hand and pulls me inside and they are already all screaming at the tv and yelling. "FT!" Someone yells and comes up and he lets go of my hand and daps his hand up. Hero looks at me and then notices my discomfort and grabs my hand again. "And who is this? Your girlfriend?" The guy asks and I choke and Hero shakes his head, "This..is my sisters friend." He says and I nod my head slowly. So he can't even pronounce me as his friend? Is this a joke?
"Nice to meet you Hero's sisters friend. It's Alex." He says reaching his hand out to shake mine and I shake it, "It's Josephine." I nod.
"Well it's nice to meet you Josephine, hey Hero." He says turning and pointing to Hero. "You should bring your sisters friend around more often." Alex says and I pin my lips together nodding. "Yeah, no thanks." Hero says and I nod at Alex as Hero grabs my hand pulling me up the stairs. He opens the door and it looks like his old room a bit, just a little bit smaller. He shuts the door and I sit on the little couch. "It's nice in here." I say and he rocks back in forth and then locks the door. "I tried making it seem as comfortable as possible." he sighs and I just lean back looking at the ceiling. "What's wrong?" he asks plopping next to me gently and then leans close to me looking at the ceiling as well. "Nothing." I say.
He turns his head to look at me and I look over at him. "Jo." he says and I look back up at the ceiling. "You can't even pronounce me as your friend?" I question.
"It's not what I meant.." he sighs and I nod my head slowly, "Why am I even here? What do I need to even help you with? I wanna go home." I say and bolt up walking towards the door and I feel a grab on my wrist and I turn around in front of the door. "Don't." he says walking closer to me and I backup towards the door. "Jo." he says and I shake my head. "Can you back up?" I question.
"Just saying I consider us friends, that's it. I don't want you thinking we are more, and I wanted to make that clear." He says and I pin my lips together and look at the couch as my phone has a notification and Hero walks over to it and holds it out and his lips pin together and he walks over to me and shows the screen to me and I grab it out of his hand. "Hey Jo, I need to ask you something, important." The text reads from Jack. "Why did you hand it to me like that?" I ask walking back over to the couch and he shrugs and sits next to me and turns his tv on that's adjusted in the corner of his room. "Sure, what's up?" I send back and he's already typing. "I don't know." he says as a smart remark and I shake my head shaking a fake smile at him.
"I really like you, a lot if you couldn't tell. It seems you feel the same way and I don't want to play around like this anymore, I want to make this official." he says and I gasp and hold my hand up to my mouth. "What-" Hero asks grabbing my phone but it's still in my hand and turning it towards him and he reads the text. "Oh my gosh!" I jump up and down holding my phone. "I don't think you should." Hero says folding his hands in his lap spreading his legs adjusting himself on the couch. I stand in front of him sitting on the edge of his bed. "What? Why?" I ask.
"Come on Jo, you barely even know him. I say you should wait and then date him. Besides, he's not a good guy." he says and I laugh shaking my head, "And you are?" I raise my eyebrows.
"I didn't say that."
"How is he not a good guy?" I ask.
"He has had many girlfriends." he says and I squint my eyes at him and fake smile and nod, "Okay, that's the only reason he's not a good guy?"
"Well, he could use you." Hero says biting his lip shrugging. "I don't think he would do that to me. He's tried for two months trying to get to know me, I don't think he'd just use me. He hasn't used anyone in the past, so what makes you think he would use me?" I ask.
