( the bearer of loath )

I WATCHED, nerves running amock in my skin, as Percy and Grover began to haul the Oracle back into the Big House. My vision dissipated as more and more blood trickled down my leg, staining the icy ground.

I wrapped my left hand around the arrow, ( the right was still smoldering from the random occurrence earlier ), and began to pull. I definitely knew better, but the repugnant feeling buried in my stomach seemed to increase every time I looked down to see the silver arrow.

Biting my lip, surely drawing blood, I halted. My name seemed to echo from around me, but I couldn't focus because my head started getting lighter and lighter.

"—letta. Nicoletta!" The voice called, finally stopping in front of me.

"Hmm," I replied, my eyes, which were hidden behind my closed lids started to cross. It took a second to finally register the beautiful voice of Silena Beauregard.

"Dionysus is calling a council of cabin leaders to discuss the prophecy," her voice went in and out.

"That's nice," I swayed, opening my eyes to see her watching me with a concerned face painted on.

"I'm underwhelmed." She admitted, her shiny black hair hanging loosely. Bits and pieces of hair framing her face as her crystal blue eyes locked in on mine. "Out of everyone, I thought you'd jump on this opportunity."

"Sure, but I'm not a cabin leader." I stumbled forward. "And I'm losing a lot of blood."

As her gaze traced down my body to find what I was talking about her nose scrunched, seeing the Hunters of Artemis' arrow.

She took the piece of fabric that tied her hair down. I watched as each strand traced her back delicately, hugging her shoulder blades. "Bite down on this," She moved to place it in my mouth, ignoring my repulsed face.

She's gone crazy. "That thing was just in your hair," I stared at her, ignoring the fuzz circling my vision. "For the entire game of Capture the Flag. I'm not putting that in my mouth."

She rolled her eyes, "I just washed my hair." Silena shrugged, fighting the urge to laugh off her tongue. "Trust me, the process is gruesome. It's clean."

I bit down, disgruntled.

"Now, this will hurt." If it weren't for the piece of fabric in my mouth I'm sure my lips would've curled. "It'll be over in a second." She smiled sympathetically.

It felt like my skin was burning, the area where the arrow was tingled and pierced in tenfolds as Silena pulled it out. It felt so slow, blood pulsing out of the wound, almost like it was one with the arrow. I stumbled into her arms.
