THALIA ONE HUNDRED PERCENT HATED NICOLETTA'S GUTS. Sure, Nicoletta hated her own guts at the time but the hurt penetrated even further, especially since she was just trying to help.

Every once and a while Thalia would glare in her direction, shivering with disgust at the feeling of being taken over by powerful love magic.

             Now she's just being dramatic.

"We will never make it," Zoe huffed. "We are moving too slow. But we cannot leave the Ophiotaurus."

"Mooo," Bessie said. Swimming along happily next to Percy who had a frown stitched on his face, glancing at Nicoletta as she stumbled along, completely exhausted and riddled with guilt, watching as the mid-day colors bled into an evening bloom.

"I don't get it," he said. "Why do we have to get there at sunset?"

"The Hesperides are the nymphs of the sunset," Zoe bit her cheek. "We can only enter their garden as day changes tonight."

Nicoletta bit her lip, thinking of the consequences of not making it in time. "What happens if we miss it?"

"Tomorrow is the winter solstice. If we miss sunset tonight, we would have to wait until tomorrow evening. And by then, the Olympian Council will be over. We must free Lady Artemis tonight."

             Or Annabeth will be dead.

"Sooo...missing it is a big no-no." Percy puckered his lips and eyes and ran a hand through his hair multiple times in frustration like he took refuge in messing his hair up even more.

Nicoletta rolled her eyes at the boy and his lack of tact in less-than-ideal situations.

"We need a car," Thalia huffed.

"But what about Bessie?" Percy pouted, becoming found with the monster that could possibly destroy Olympus.

Grover stopped in his tracks. "I've got an idea! The Ophiotaurus can appear in different bodies of water, right?"

"Well, yeah," Percy said. "I mean, he was in Long Island Sound. Then he just popped into the water at Hoover Dam. And now he's here."

"So maybe we could coax him back to Long Island Sound," Grover said. "Then Chiron could help us get him to Olympus."

Nicoletta felt herself grin. "Grover you're a genius!"

He blushed, kicking the dirt with his hooves while shrugging. The girl had that sort of effect on others when any sort of affection had been given.
