( WHITE RABBIT )

THEODORE MANCINI WAS FALLING. His esophagus was sore as the cracks in porcelain bowls from his acute cries at night, trying not to disturb the flow of the Athena cabin, for they were scary ( rightfully so ) when disrupted.

His lips still sore from Nicoletta's, when the world stopped in between each damp-breath, hanging in the air above her delicate angel's bow. Her lips were perfect as he imagined, soft and knee-buckling. Her delicate hands played with his hair which sent cosmic globes to his brain each time she moved her lips against his. He couldn't- didn't want to pull away. But she did.

And now she avoided him. The bone marrow in his spine aches every time he saw her. Head thumping in the irony of being a child of the wisdom goddess, but not knowing what he did wrong.

Theodore knew he was late, for what, he didn't know.

The sunlight was bleeding on her tongue. The golden liquid seeping through the cup her mouth made, trickling down her lips like grenades of raindrops; danger.

As they met in the sword area Nicoletta's trigger-happy eyes scanned over each bronze weapon gleaming in the dusk.

Chiron and Quintus stood at the front of the weapon rack, backs each straight and tidy as if unfortunate peril was stapled to their spines.

Annabeth led the briefing—back in her natural habitat, shining with the face of a tyrant- leader— next to a stone faced Clarisse. Nicoletta never had the chance to talk to the burly girl ( always too afraid to be crushed by her iron fist ) but like everything in her life, she can feel that change. Love & War a fabulous combination.
