Hours had passed since the end of the battle outside of Lord Khesta's estate and during that time, Sin and his companions had finalized a plan with the Lord of the estate. Two days from now, with the protective shroud of darkness shielding them; they would assault one of the safehouses within Lord Khesta's district and remove their filth from the world.
With their plan finalized, Sin followed by his companions were making their way through the streets of Elessan. Each of them felt the exhaustion that was clinging to them from both this day's activities as well as the previous one, this didn't stop them from walking with their heads held high.
"Can you believe that we were able to make it through not just one battle but two without taking any life-threatening wounds..." Lucius called out with a voice barely containing his excitement.
The words that he heard falling from Lucius's mouth caused Sin to consider how dangerous everything they were doing was and that during any of their future battles, he could in fact lose one of his friends which would not only shatter his heart worse than it already was; it would surely throw him back into that shadow that he was following Nohki's betrayal. With his mind stirring these worries within him, Sin missed the next words that had fallen around them which caused his companions to stare at him with concern.
A hand fell upon his shoulder which startled Sin from his mind and as the half-breed turned with his fist drawn back ready to strike any who dared touch him; he stopped himself when he saw Lucius a few inches away from him. "...is everything alright Sin? This should be a time for celebration but instead you look as if you are going to be sick." Lucius inquired as he stared into Sin's eyes.
While Sin usually preferred to suffer in silence, he knew that this wouldn't be the best course of action considering that even though they were friends; they needed to be able to trust him while they are in the field lest they refuse to follow his commands.
"I was just beginning to realize how dangerous everything we are doing is..." Sin replied in a voice that was filled with his worry. As Sin was speaking, he noticed a commotion happening in the area that he and his companions had passed a few moments prior. "...what is going on over there?"
Though these words had come out softer than his last, his companions were still able to hear what he had said which caused them to turn in the direction that he was staring. Everyone kept quiet as they examined the scene before them. Sitting upon the ground near the corner of what looked to be a shop of some sort was a male that seemed to be of orc descent. This stranger seemed to be begging for money which evidently drew a crowd towards him though some that were in that crowd were throwing unkind words towards the other male.
These beings that came out of the crowd looked as if they were nothing more than children which Sin assumed due to their young-looking skin and stature. If this had been any other day, Sin would have stepped forward to aid the stranger though considering his recent musings on the dangers he was bringing his companions into; he thought that it would be best if he kept himself and his companions away from the event.
Just as he was about to turn away from the event unfolding before him, the children that had gathered so they could harass the stranger; threw out words that froze Sin in place.
"Why don't you do us all the favor and remove yourself from our sight filthy mutt!" a young voice cried out a moment before another child screeched a similar hostility. "Get off the street before we call those who will ensure that we will never have to see your filth again!"
Fury rose within him and while he wished to allow his rage to rain down upon those who would speak to his people in this manner, the same worries that he has felt since realizing how easily it would be for him to lose one of his companions; kept him standing where he was. Though these worries froze him where he stood, they didn't stop his companions acting on his behalf.
