What just happened...?
"Darling?" Alastor said, sounding perplexed, "since when can you do that?"
The girls were standing still, just as confused as us.
I shook my head, looking at my hand and then to the newly formed pool table.
"I-I don't...I don't know...?" I really didn't know, "that's the first time that's happened...is that something everyone can do?"
I looked to charlie and she slowly shook her head no, "most demons don't have powers at all...just their full demon form, and even then they are just ordinary," she explained.
I blinked.
"Oh...um...well, I guess this makes things easier," I shrugged and began pointing around the room, "over there could be a juke box, and in this area could be a nice lounge with some gaming consoles..."
As I spoke and pointed everything I described would appear. I held both my hands up, a big smile on my face.
"Now let's lighten this room up...it's far too red in here," the walls slowly turned a creme color, and I stood back and put my hands on my hips, admiring my work.
I turned to Charlie, "so, what do you think?"
She threw herself on me, and I stumbled back. Her arms wrapped around me, and she squeezed.
"Thank you! Oh my gosh, it's wonderful!"
I giggled and hugged her back, then held her at arms length, "I'm glad you like it...now, go get you some customers!" I encouraged and Charlie bounced happily.
I started to walk back towards Alastor but my body swayed slightly as my head suddenly felt light.
My vision doubled and everything was focusing in and out. Alastor noticed this and stood up from the couch, "darling, are you alright?" He asked, worried.
His voice bounced around in my head, and I was trying to get the room to stop spinning.
I nodded, "y-yea...I'm fine I...just..." the edges of my sight faded to black and the last thing I remember is hitting the floor.
**
My eyes squinted slightly as I blinked them open. My head was pounding, and I could barely even remember where I was.
Slowly I put my hand to my head, and sat up. The squishy object beneath me shifted with me. I looked down, and realized I was in a bed.
A very large, double king style bed.
The covers were maroon with subtle grey stripes. The silk sheets I was wrapped up in felt soft and comforting.
The door clicked, and then there were quick footsteps once whoever it was saw me awake.
The light switched on and I hissed and winced, covering my eyes.
"Im sorry darling," the person said, but my brain registered it as Alastor. He held a cold rag to the back of my neck and I sighed immediately at the feeling.
I hadn't even realized I was burning up.
I removed my hands from my face and Alastor was leaned over me, looking worried with a tight grin on his face.
"Alastor...what happened...?" I asked groggily, and he sighed.
"Im sorry...I should have warned you, sweetheart but it slipped my mind..." he ran his hand through his hair and I listened intently, "you're brand new here in hell, so these powers you've harnessed take a lot of energy...whereas I could use my powers all day and not feel a thing, you...not so much," he cringed slightly.
Ah.
"Oh..." was my reply as my eyes cast down. I remembered then all the stuff I did at the hotel. I probably shouldn't have been so hasty...
He knelt by the bed and brushed my hair away from my face, "you'll need to build up your energy...until then, you won't be able to use your powers in large quantities," he explained.
"I haven't been out too long, right?" I asked absentmindedly, sitting up fully and resting my back against the headboard.
Alastor shifted nervously, and looked away, "well...it's been 4 days..."
"4 days?!" I screeched and it was then I felt how hungry I was. I held my stomach and Alastor seemed to know exactly what I needed.
He snapped and a little bowl of soup appeared in my lap on a tray.
I blinked and then smiled softly, but creased my brows.
"Damn I really put myself on my ass..." I mumbled, taking a bite of the soup.
"Indeed, darling, but do not fret, nothing interesting happened," he said with a smile and I sighed.
"I feel bad though...I just passed out on those girls...I wonder how they're doing," I mused and Alastor rolled his eyes.
"The princess insisted you stay at the hotel to feel better, but I refused. You're mine, and you will do nothing of the sort," he scoffed and I raised an eyebrow at him.
"Alastor, what is with you? You seem to get very protective when it comes to me and the hotel, you know I'm not going to leave you to stay there right?" I said and his gaze shifted to his hands.
He picked at his nails and then sighed, "I just...I love you...and it worries me..." he said, sort of mumbling.
I touched his face gently, "why would it worry you? I was only helping out," I said with a little smile, letting him know it's ok to talk to me.
"Because...and don't you dare utter a word of this outside these walls...I'm worried it may work..." he admitted and my eyes widened.
I scoffed, "I thought it was 'ridiculous nonsense'" I said, reciting what he said to Charlie. His eyelids lowered and he rolled his eyes.
"Must you mock me? I was merely holding up my reputation," he said, and I rolled my eyes back at him.
"Yea, yea I know...but even if it does work, I'm not checking in, I know your home is here in hell," my voice softened and I made him look at me, those red eyes glowing slightly, "so this is where my home is, too..." my thumb brushed his cheek and he relaxed slightly.
I finished my soup, and Alastor discarded the tray with the wave of his hand.
After that he crawled into bed with me, pulling me close to him so my head rested on his chest. He let out a deep sigh and buried his nose into my hair.
"You're an angel among demons, my love..." he mumbled. I blushed and got comfortable against him.
This moment feels so perfect.
In this moment...its easy to forget I'm in hell.
