Ariel's POV
After I woke up, my body properly healed.
It took maybe a day for me to feel perfectly healthy again.
We'd been home for about two weeks now...mostly just settling into our new lives as parents.
Alastor surprised me when we got home with a fully built nursery. It was equipped with everything we bought, including the beautiful bassinet I'd picked out.
I nearly cried when I saw it.
He said Mai had spent nearly all of the time I was asleep helping him design it.
I was grateful for everything I have...everything I've been through. Especially for this relationship I've built with the man I love.
Speaking of...
"Alastor?" I called out, realizing it's been suspiciously quiet now for a long period of time.
"In here, my love," he called out from the nursery.
I sighed, closing my book and standing up. We just put her down for her nap, why is he in there.
I walked over to the open door, "Alastor we just put her down why-" my voice cut off at the scene in front of me.
Alastor was standing by her crib, and attached to his arm was our baby. She had grown a lot since we came home...in two weeks she's grown to be the size of a baby about 2 months old.
He little teeth were embedded in his arm and a very soft growl was coming from her body.
"I have an issue..." Alastor said pitifully, his ears lowered.
I covered my mouth, stifling a laugh.
Shaking my head I walked over to the pitiful overlord, reaching out and taking the tiny growling baby in my hands.
At my touch she immediately popped off Alastor's arm. He looked down at the spot, watching as it healed before rubbing it.
"Ow..." he mumbled and I rolled my eyes.
"Oh, you wuss..." I teased, giving him a smirk.
His eyelids lowered, a low growl rolling through his chest as he closed the space between us, running his hands down my waist and to my hips.
"Oh really?" He purred, and I stuck my tongue out at him. He chuckled and kissed my forehead before looking down at the baby in my arms. She was laying against my chest, purring softly.
"Now how is it fair that I get bitten and you get that," he whined, and I laughed.
"Maybe because I didn't wake her from her nap," I chastised, and his ears lowered.
"She didn't look like she was breathing..." he huffed, and I rolled my eyes.
"Alastor she's a born demon...she doesn't have to breath," I laughed and he pouted.
I gently laid her back into her crib, humming softly. Once she was down and I'd successfully removed her death grip from my shirt, I turned around and nearly jumped out of my skin when I was met with Alastor's chest.
"Shit!" I exclaimed, managing to keep my voice hushed as I put my hand over my chest.
"Alastor, why'd you..." I looked up at him and my words fell off.
He was wearing a very gentle smile, and he grabbed both my hands.
"Can I show you something...?" He asked.
