Ariels POV
It's been about a week since everything happened. Things are finally starting to calm down again, thankfully.
There have been news reporters and paparazzi swarming the radio tower ever since the fight went viral.
They were stupidly persistent, even after Alastor ate like five of them one day for grabbing me. Even though they stayed after that, not one of them dared to touch me.
But now it's quiet, no reporters, no cameras.
I stared down at the city through the large window in the living room. The streets were bustling with demons, bumping each other left and right.
With a sigh I turned away from the window and headed towards the bathroom. It's pretty early, so Alastor is still sleeping. With a peek into our bedroom I confirmed that fact.
He was face down in the bed, his hair fluffed up and unruly. His arm was sprawled over where my body once laid, and the soft sound of snoring made me smile.
I walked over and bent down, brushing some hair from his face before placing a kiss on his cheek.
With that I walked into our bathroom, shutting the door softly before stripping myself of my night clothes. I turned on the shower and waited for the water to warm up.
Once some steam started to billow from the shower I stepped in. The warm water felt nice on my skin and I sighed.
I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. Ever since that day, Alastor is much more protective than he ever was before. If he goes somewhere, so do I. If I go somewhere, so does he.
I'm never out of his sight for more than about 15 minutes at a time, usually less. I know he's guilty about what happened, but I want him to know he doesn't have to coddle me.
My eyes opened back up and I focused on the ceiling above me. Then I felt like I heard glass shattering as my sight landed on a huge ugly spider sitting on the wall there.
We stared at each other for what seemed like hours, but it was only about 5 seconds before a shrill scream ripped from my throat.
I stumbled out of the shower, still soaking wet, and at that same time the door to the bathroom slammed open. Alastor was standing there with his eyes turned to dials and his teeth sharpened before I nearly tackled him when I climbed up onto his back to use him as a shield.
The static died down and I hugged onto him and pointed at the shower with a whimper. His confused gaze followed my finger and then his body relaxed.
"Darling, you scared the hell out of me," he breathed out with a soft chuckle, "is that actually what has you so scared?"
I hugged him tighter and wrapped my other arm around his neck as well to hold myself up better.
"Shut up! Just kill it, please," I whined and he burst out laughing.
