"Pittoo?!" Pit exclaimed in shock upon seeing his clone.
"How many times do I have to tell you to not refer to me by that damned nickname!" Dark Pit yelled as he jumped down from the hill and walked over to Pit, attaching the Phosphora Bow he was holding to his belt so he didn't have to hold it.
Pit ignores him, attempting to get up again. "What are you doing here?" He asks, hissing in pain from the movement. That stupid Clubberskull really did a number on him.
"Viridi sent me, she said something about the Underworld Commanders being up to no good or whatever." Pittoo replies, shrugging, then looked at Pit with concern. "You okay?"
"Yeah..." Pit replied, trying to put weight on his right leg and wincing, collapsing onto the ground again. "Ow!"
Dark Pit frowned, walking closer to Pit and lifting him up by his torso gently so he was standing and leaning against him. "Don't be stubborn."
"Heh, you're one to talk, you're just as bad as I am." Pit chuckled, his arm going around Dark Pit's shoulders. "Oh, by the way, I was sent here for the same reason, Lady Palutena said she had sensed some strange activity happening here. Our connection was cut just before that Clubberskull and some other enemies attacked me." Pit explained, looking back down to the now hopefully dead monster, shuddering at the thought of how close he was to being killed by that thing.
"You're lucky I got here just in time then." Dark Pit sighed, looking around to make sure that there were no other monsters nearby. "Can you walk?"
"I think so-" Pit cut himself off as he took a step and almost collapsed again, good thing Pittoo had fast enough reflexes to catch him.
"Shit, uh-" Dark Pit thought quickly on what he should do, an idea came to him, but he didn't want to use that one.
He looked back at Pit, seeing that he was still struggling, even while leaning on him, he sighed, closing his eyes.
"Stand still, I've got an idea." The dark angel murmured, moving one hand to Pit's thighs and the other to his upper back just above the wings.
"Wait what are you do- Ah!" Pit was caught off guard when Pittoo picked him up bridal style. "Why are you carrying me? You don't have to do that." He says, blushing a little.
"I know a place where we can hide and rest until you recover from that fight, but since you can't walk right now I'm taking you there myself, so deal with it." Dark Pit replied while beginning to walk in a random direction. "You honestly don't expect me to just leave you here, do you?"
Pit was about to retort but decided not to last second. "Why are you doing this? Since when did you care about my well being?" He asked while looking at him skeptically.
Pittoo looked straight ahead, shrugging. "Who else would be a challenge for me on the battlefield? If you were dead I'd have no one else to match me." He says, smirking slightly.
Pit rolls his eyes at that, looking to the side. "Of course, you're only helping me for your own benefit, should've known." He murmured, huffing.
-
A while passes before they reach a small cave in the side of a cliff, Dark Pit walks towards it and enters. "Y'know you're kinda heavy Pit, maybe you should cut down on the snacks."
"Hey! Screw you!" Pit exclaimed while glaring at him. "I don't eat that much!"
"Uh huh, sure you don't." Dark Pit replied as he carefully put Pit down on the cave floor, stretching afterwards. "I'm going to see if I can contact Palutena or Viridi, you stay here." He said before walking out of the cave.
Pit sighed as he watched him leave, he decided to take his Artillery Claws off his hands to get more comfortable. He stretched his hands and fingers, they felt a little stiff being inside the claws for a while. He sighs while thinking to himself. Why would Pittoo help him? Didn't he hate his guts?
Pit sat in the cave with his thoughts for about five minutes until Pittoo re-entered the cave. "I couldn't reach the Goddesses, guess we're stuck here for a while." He says as he sits down next to Pit, looking annoyed, but then again he always held that expression.
"I wonder what could have cut the connection." Pit said quietly, resting his cheek against his knees and looked at his clone. "I've been to the Underworld like three times before and that's never happened."
Dark Pit shrugged. "Who knows, maybe the Goddesses know what the issue is and are trying to fix it, hopefully."
Pit nodded, sighing and closing his eyes for a bit, his body still hurt from the fight with the Clubberskull.
About five minutes passed before Pit started to shiver, it's gotten quite cold in the cave they were hiding out in.
Dark Pit looked at him with a raised eyebrow. "Are you seriously cold?" He asked, changing his sitting position.
"Hm, y-yeah." Pit replied as he wrapped his wings around himself, but they weren't big enough to cover his whole body, so they only helped a little. "I'm not used to cold weather, it's always warm and sunny in Skyworld."
Pittoo looked at him for a few more seconds before moving closer to him and wrapping his wing around Pit's shoulders.
Pit paused for a moment and blushed. "Wha-"
"Don't say anything, it's less awkward if you don't talk." Dark Pit cut him off, blushing slightly and avoiding eye contact.
Pit stared at him in surprise before grinning. "Aww you really do care about me!" He exclaimed with a giggle.
"No I don't asshole! I just don't want to hear you complaining about being cold!" He shot back, looking at him angrily.
"Suuure," Pit chuckled. "Then explain your red face." He said while pointing at him.
Pit pointing out the fact that he was blushing made him blush more. "I swear if you don't shut up I'll-"
"You'll what?" Pit challenged as he leaned closer to him with a playful smirk. "Go on then, I'm curious."
Dark Pit growled and shoved him away by putting his hand on his stupidly cute face, well at least tried to shove him, Pit is fairly strong and didn't really budge. "Personal space please."
Pit pouted and used his hand to push Pittoo's down so now it was on Pit's leg and his hand was on top of it. "Come on Pittoo, why are you really helping me? At least without a good reason, it isn't like you..." Pit asked as he gave him a curious expression.
Dark Pit glared at him for a few seconds before sighing and closing his eyes. He might as well tell him, now's as good a time as any...
"Well..."
