"Uh- Well..."
'Shit shit shit! How do I explain that?! She's gonna figure out that I really didn't mean to inflict a wound that serious!'
"I..."
Dark Pit really didn't know what he could say, but then it hit him.
'You know what?' He thought. 'I'm done with this spy bullshit.'
'Fuck it.'
"I lied." He admits aloud, shooting Palutena an apologetic look. He knows that she wanted him to report information about the Forces of Nature to her for longer than just over a month, but he really couldn't do it anymore, especially now that Pit got hurt because of it.
The Goddess gives him a subtle nod in response. She knew that it was best to tell nothing but the truth now.
"You lied?" Viridi asked, she sounded like she was trying not to yell in rage. "About what, exactly?"
"About being loyal to you. I've been working for Palutena this whole time." Pittoo says with confidence, looking up at the sky.
He'll never admit it, but he felt proud saying that, Palutena was a good Goddess, and he'd rather work for her than any of the other stupid Gods.
"You what?! You traitor! How dare you?!" Viridi suddenly shouts. "I thought I suspected something! I should've known! You untrustworthy little bastard!"
The angel just sighs, expecting this reaction.
"I knew it."
He pauses and looks behind him, seeing Phosphora floating there.
"Did you now," Dark Pit says with a smirk. "I thought I was being slick."
"Please." The Goddess snickers. "You weren't. Well, at least for most of the time, you were." She smiles softly.
He smiles back, shaking his head.
"You and Pit are the perfect couple, glad to know now that you two never split, at least not for a reason as dumb as working for the enemy." She adds, nodding.
"Me too." He murmurs, turning his head to look at the ground, closing his eyes.
"Hey! Aren't you listening? Ugh! Whatever! I never want you to come near my domain again. You hear me! You will be shot on sight! Phosphora! Take my children and leave! As much as I hate to admit it, we've lost this fight." Viridi suddenly piped up.
'Honestly I forgot that she was still talking, must be because I'm used to tuning her out.' Pittoo thought to himself.
Phosphora nodded and made a hand signal to the Nature Troops, which caused them to all begin their journey back home to the Goddess of Nature's temple.
The Centurions noticed their enemy army leaving and decided that they might as well head off too, since there was no longer a threat to their Goddess or the Captain. Well except for him bleeding to death, but then again Lady Palutena would just revive him, so yeah he's pretty much safe anyway.
The Goddess of Lightning was about to follow them before pausing and looking back at Dark Pit. "Still friends?" She asked, sounding hopeful.
He hummed and put a finger on his chin as he 'thought' about it. "I don't know, we are on opposite sides after all." He replies, slightly teasing.
She just rolls her eyes. "I'll take that as a yes." She laughs, waving.
And with that she shoots up into the sky as fast as a lightning strike's.
The darker just smiles as he looks up for a moment at the sky before his eyes widen in remembrance.
"Fuck I was so caught up in all that fuckery that I forgot about Pit!" He yelled out.
"Baby I'm sorry let me take you to-" He cuts himself off upon turning around and seeing that Pit and Palutena were not where they were only minutes before. What the?
"I've taken him to the infirmary." Pittoo heard the voice of the Goddess of Light in his head.
"Oh." He says, shaking his head. 'Of course, he'd be dead by now if no one had taken action.' "Right."
"Pit's being treated right now, so get your ass over here so you can be the first thing he sees when he wakes up." She continues teasingly.
Dark Pit just nods, immediately running off towards the temple to find the infirmary and his boyfriend.
'Don't worry Pit, I'm coming for you, and this time I'm not going anywhere.'
