'Oh fuck me.'

That was the first thing that went through Dark Pit's head after hearing that sentence.

Viridi started to discuss the battle plan for Skyworld's invasion, but Pittoo wasn't really paying attention, how come he didn't know about this? Viridi must've been keeping that information under locks, shit I should tell Palut-

"Dark Pit."

"Huh?" He said, looking up from the floor, he must've turned his gaze downward when deep in thought.

"Pay attention! Idiot!" Viridi snapped at him. "You're gonna be leading half of the army to the left side of Skyworld's islands while Phosphora leads the other half to the right side to flank them, got that?" She asks, crossing her arms.

He just nods in response, not noticing as Phosphora was giving him a suspicious look. Wouldn't he be thrilled to go into battle against their enemies? Especially if Pit was one of them? But instead he looked like he was dreading it. Hmmm...

"Alright, you all know your rolls, remember them and prepare, we attack at dawn." Viridi adds, nodding to them. "You're dismissed."

Everyone began to leave, mostly to their rooms to rest up before the inevitable battle ahead.

Pittoo began to head off to his room as well, at least when he's alone in there he'll be able to warn the Goddess of Light of the attack before it started.

As he was about to reach the doorway that lead to the hall where the rooms were, he was called back by Viridi.

"Except you Dark Pit, I need to speak with you." She says, even though he couldn't see her, he could hear the smirk in her voice.

Fuck.

He gulps silently, turning back around to look at her, but didn't take a step forward.

She stares at him for a moment before her expression turns serious. "I have a special mission for you tomorrow." She states, eyes narrowing.

The angel looked at her in confusion. "But didn't you say that I was to lead half the Forces of Nature to the left side of Skyworld to attack it?" He asked, unsure and getting a bad feeling about what she was gonna ask him to do.

"Yes, you're still doing that, but there's something else I want you to do." The Goddess responds, beginning to walk down the steps that lead up to her throne.

Dark Pit didn't say anything, just waited for her to continue. 'Why do I have a bad feeling about this...?'

"After you've gotten my children to start attacking the Temple of Light, I'll need you to head off and find Pit." She says, her lips curved up into an evil looking smile.

Pittoo bit his lip, looking at her in anticipation. "And why do you want me to do that...?"

Viridi just smirks at him as she says in a low, almost menacing tone.

"...To kill him..."

-

"She really told you that?"

Dark Pit nodded, then realised that Palutena couldn't see him and felt stupid for it, so he just hummed to confirm the answer to her question.

Pittoo was in his room, it had been not even a full two minutes since the meeting between the commanders of the Forces of Nature, immediately contacting the Goddess of Light to tell her of Viridi's plan to attack her realm.

"Does she not realise that if Pit were to perish then you'd suffer the same fate being his copy?" She asked curiously, wondering how that would work.

Dark Pit growled lowly at being called a copy, but didn't say anything on the matter, instead he replied with; "I don't think she knows, or she doesn't remember, I never told her about it, or she does know, and doesn't care that I'll die too..." He trails off, trying not to think about how much that thought hurt. He wasn't supposed to care about what others thought of him! He was hard like that... Y'know, edgy.
