Storming The Church (1)

Alex and Issei stood by the outskirts of the abandoned church.

They had arrived with zero opposition.

"Hold on a sec, Issei." Alex grabbed Issei's shoulder, looking around.

"What? We don't have all the time in the world." Issei replied, on edge.

"You remember the plan, right?" Issei sighed. "Yeah, I'll promote as soon as I get in."

Promotion. The unique ability given to all those holding a pawn piece. When in enemy territory, or in an area their master deems fit, the pawn may promote to any of the other evil pieces.

"Good. But there's something else. Don't you think it's weird nobody showed up to stop us?" Alex asked.

Issei paused. "Kinda. But why are you thinking about that right now?"

"Because I think I found the guard."

Alex pointed to a nearby tree. Sitting on one of its branches was a young looking girl with blonde pigtails wearing gothic lolita clothing.

Despite her appearance, it was obvious this girl was a fallen angel.

"Hello boys!" The fallen angel waved cheerfully. "I'm so happy you decided to drop by!"

"You bitch! Where's Asia!?" Issei shouted, activating his sacred gear and pointing it at her.

The girl groaned. "Why don't you get out of here little boy? I wanna talk to the cutie next to you. Guarding this place was getting so boring, but now I get to have some fun."

Alex activated zenith tempest, causing the girl's eyes to widen. "Hold on, you both have sacred gears? Ugh." The fallen clapped her hands, and a magic circle appeared above her.

Two figures began descending out of the circle. "Why have you summoned us, Mittelt?" A male voice asked.

"Does someone truly dare attempt to disrupt Raynare's plans?" A woman asked.

Two more fallen angels flanked the girl, Mittelt, and glared at the duo.

"Oh, it's the boy Raynare played around with for a while." One of the new arrivals, a tall woman with long electric blue hair sneered.

"So you became a devil then? Then it's even more important that we kill both of you here tonight." The other, a man with a purple fedora and trenchcoat declared.

"Woah! The super duper awesome fallen angel trio of Mittelt, Kalawarner and Dohnaseek are here to kill you dead!" Mittelt sung, twirling a light spear in her hand.

Alex narrowed his eyes. "Issei, get inside the church."

"Huh?" Issei snapped to him in shock. "What? You plan on taking them all on alone!?"

"We don't know what's going with your friend in there, and I've got a gut feeling this is most of their forces right here." Alex explained his reasoning.

"Okay, but it's crazy for you to-"

"Just trust me, Issei."

"...Fine." Issei relented. "I'll be back with Asia to help you out."

The fallen angels simply watched Issei leave, laughing.

"You think that boy has a chance of changing anything!?" Dohnaseek sneered. "He'll get killed before he even reaches Lady Raynare!"

"Do you really want to fight us alone, devil boy?" Kalawarner asked.

"Want to? Not particularly. Will I? Yes." Alex replied. He raised his hand, and fired off a gust of wind, knocking the fallen angels back.
