"Oh, hey Issei. You let yourself in?" Issei flinched upon hearing Suk-chin's voice behind him. He turned his head and saw the rook coming down the stairs.

The pawn was inside Suk-chin's house, specifically in the training room in the rook's basement.

"Yeah..." Issei winced. "Sorry."

Suk-chin shrugged. "I said you could. Although, it might not be a good idea since Rias kind of moved in recently?"

Issei gaped at him. "She what!?"

"Yeah... look, you can take this stuff with you to your place, so you can keep training."

Issei blinked. "I... can? But what will you use?" Suk-chin shrugged again. "Rias said she'll get some new stuff for me soonish. I've kinda... outgrown this gear."

Issei frowned. "So I'm just getting your hand-me-downs?"

"I mean you don't have to take it." Suk-chin stared at him strangely. "But you're the guy who keeps coming here and using my stuff for free. I just thought I'd make the offer."

Issei cringed. "Yeah, I- sorry about that, man."

Suk-chin raised an eyebrow. "What's on your mind, man?"

Issei sighed, as he sat down on the floor. "I dunno man, it's just..."

.

Whenever I compare myself to you, I feel like an incompent idiot.

Issei took a breath as he ran around the Kuoh shopping district. He frowned at the lack of natural light. "Man, the sun's already down. How long have I been at this?" He wondered. It's not that the darkness was a hindrance, but it was definitely worrying.

"Maybe this wasn't such a good idea after all..." He trailed off.

Issei shook his head. "No. This is important. Just like with Asia, it doesn't matter if it's dangerous. We need to do this."

I'm glad I got to meet you, Issei...

"Issei?"

The pawn staggered for a second, not believing his ears.

Issei whipped around, and was met with none other than Asia Argento herself.

"I... Asia? What are you doing here?" Issei asked, both surprised and worried.

Asia smiled sheepishly. She pressed her fingers together as she lowered her head a little. "I... um... maybe overheard you talking about going after Kiba... and I... decided to come along with you..."

Issei paled, and ran up to her. "You what!?" He grabbed her by the shoulders. "Why would you do that? Don't you know how dangerous this could be?"

"But that's why I did come!" Asia insisted. "Issei, I want to help you!"

"But this isn't safe!" Issei protested. "The whole reason I didn't tell you was to protect you!"

"But who's protecting you?" Asia asked, her voice started to get louder. Issei's eyes widened, and he took a step back.

"Issei, I... don't want you to get hurt." Asia told the boy. "I can help you. I know I'm no good at fighting, but I'm not helpless! I can help you, Issei. I want to, and I will."

"Asia..." Issei had no idea what to say. His heart was starting to pound. "Issei,  I..."

"Well isn't this a treat?"

Both Issei and Asia froze. Issei quickly recovered and turned around to see an incoming fist send him flying into a nearby shop, shattering the glass pane.
