The Familiar Forest

The light died down, and the occult research club found themselves in a dark forest with a deep red sky.

"What the hell is this place?" Issei asked, mildly creeped out.

"We call this place the familiar forest. It's a secluded forest in the underworld crawling with tons of different magical creatures. Devils come here to get their familiar." Akeno explained.

"It's true. This is where we all came to get ours." Kiba confirmed. "There's no reason to be afraid."

"What? I'm not scared. I'm fine. Besides the fact I just shat myself." Issei grumbled.

"Is this the only place?" Alex asked, genuinely curious.

Rias shook her head. "No. While this is by far the most convenient for us devils, there are countless locations scattered across the realms with creatures capable of forming a pact."

"Is it possible to have more than one familiar?"

"Feeling a little bold, aren't we?" A loud voice echoed through the forest, causing both Asia and Issei to jump.

A middle aged man with red hair mostly covered by a blue hat that he wore backwards lept onto a nearby tree.

"Name's Satouji! I'm the familiar master around these parts! If catching one of these critters is your goal, I'm your guy!"

"Satouji is a professional when it comes to magical creatures." Akeno revealed. "He's the one that helped us find our familiars when we came."

"Hey there, Lady Gremory!" Satouji waved. "Who am I helping today?"

Rias gestured to Alex, Issei and Asia. "These three are in need of familiars."

Satouji nodded, and narrowed his eyes at the three.

"Understood! What kind are you looking for? A strong one? A fast one? Maybe a poisonous one?"

Issei blushed. "What about cute female ones? Preferably ones that like nerdy guys."

The familiar master scoffed at the suggestion, and looked at Asia.

"What about you, girl?"

Asia blushed in embarassement. "Well, I'd like a cute familiar too... but maybe it would be best to find one that's strong... I'm no good at fighting..."

Satouji nodded. "A cute and strong familiar? Done and done. Know your own strengths and weaknesses when thinking of a familiar!"

Finally, he looked at Alex. "You, boy. What are you looking for?"

Alex thought for a moment. "I'd like to find a strong familiar as well. One that can fight alongside me directly."

"Got it. Let's take a look around!"

After a short hike, the group found themselves near a small lake.

"Inside this lake, water sprites, or Undines, live." Satouji said. "If you're looking for a powerful and majestic partner, this is the one for you."

Issei blushed at the name. "Water sprite...?" He fell into a perverted fantasy.

"Strong, you say?" Alex said, as the water began to stir.

"Indeed, and would you look at that! It seems we'll be seeing an undine for ourselves!" Satouji pointed at the lake.

Issei gasped, and zeroed in on the water as a figure began emerge.

And then he promptly screamed in horror as an incredibly muscular beefcake erupted from the water and roared, bearing sharp teeth.

"What the hell is that!?" The brunette cried.
