"Rias, are you really sure we should still be doing this?" Suk-chin asked as he sat in a chair in front of a mirror.
Rias was standing behind him, a comb and scissors in her hands. "Absolutely. I know that we have a serious matter on our hands with Kiba." She admitted. "But I've already made moves in response. My familiar, along with Akeno's familiars, are searching the city." She explained.
"We haven't found Kiba yet, and once we do, we won't confront him immediately." Rias said. "This entire situation is very difficult for him, and I understand he needs space. But with all that's going on I need to be certain he's safe."
"You're uh... taking this whole thing better than I imagined." Suk-chin admitted rather sheepishly.
Rias sighed as she backed away, and started rummaging through some shopping bags. "Kiba's current behaviour is more my fault than not. I was naive when I took him in, and believed I could 'fix' him." She grimaced. "Eventually, he showed some small signs of improving, and then became the person he is today. But I was too late to see it was nothing but an act."
"Well, I don't think it was a complete act..." Suk-chin trailed off. "I'm not sure what happened to him, and I agree that it's not your or anyone else's place to tell me all of it. But from the little you did say, he did need more help, but what you did was a good start." He said.
"I mean, it helped me some..." He muttered, briefly thinking about his own past.
Maybe he shouldn't be judging Kiba either.
"Hm? What was that babe?" Rias asked, standing back up and looking at him.
Suk-chin bristled. "H-huh? Oh, nothing."
"Alright then." Rias shrugged, before leaning over his shoulder and planting a kiss on his cheek. "But thank you, that does make me feel a little better."
Rias moved back and grinned. "Now, Suk-chin's makeover commences now."
Suk-chin started sweating. She was serious when she said this wasn't payback, right? Right?
At the very least, it served as a nice distraction.
Fuck. He really needed to stop lying to his girlfriend.
...
"Alright, we all understand the plan?" Issei asked his two co-conspirators.
"Yes." Koneko nodded.
"Fuck no!" Saji shouted, slamming his hands on the table as he stood up. However, he immediately faltered upon seeing that he had attracted the attention of several other people at the cafe.
He quickly sat back down, glaring at the two Gremory servants. "Are you two crazy!?" He hissed at them.
"Sure, it's sad your knight buddy ran off, and sure, I understand you want to help him. Finding him is one thing, but going after the excalibur pieces? What made you think that was a good idea?"
Issei tried defending the plan. "Look man. Kiba's been really bent outta shape ever since these excalibur things have been popping up. All I know is he had a really rough time growing up because of them. So, if we help him get rid of the ones in town, it should help him."
Saji seemed to mull it over. "Yeah, you know what? That does sound pretty reasonable."
Issei's eyes widened. "R-really? I-"
"No way asshole!" Saji cut him off. "Sona gave me the low down. Did you forget the one who's got those swords is a fucking fallen angel leader!?"
"Okay, I get it's dangerous, but-"
"Even if by some miracle we survive, it won't matter for me because I'll get my ass killed by Sona!" Saji continued. "Look, I get it. You've got Rias as a master. She's all hugs and kisses. But Sona? Sona's a fucking slave driver. She'll working you so hard you throw up your own intestines, force you to swallow them back down and then keep working!"
