"This game ends here."
The silence was almost unbearable as Alex and Riser stared each other down. Riser rubbed his cheek for another few seconds, before cracking his neck.
"Your statement is factually correct." Riser spoke. "But Riser believes you may be mistaken on who leaves here alive."
Riser glowered at Alex. "If you think you can defeat me, you're in for a rude awakening."
Alex said nothing, and took a single step forward.
"It's one thing for a devil of Rias' status to think it, but for you, a mere lowborn? The simple act of believe you can defeat Riser is a grave insult."
"Do you speak to your servants in the same way?" Alex asked calmly, causing Riser to stiffen.
Riser lunged forward and swung his fist at Alex. As the fist approached, Alex ducked under it, and threw a counterpunch, driving Riser into the roof tiles.
"Are half-assed punches like that how you're going to show off your superiority?" Alex wondered, before blinking as Riser shot his palm up to Alex's face. There was a brief shot of heat, before Riser's spell was unleashed.
Alex bent back as a large wave of hellfire shot from Riser's hand, missing him and firing off into the sky.
In the brief moment after his spell ended, Riser quickly shot up and threw another punch directed at Alex's face.
There was about a fifth of a second of shock from Riser as he came face to face with the roof again before his face slammed into it. Alex grabbed onto his arm and twisted them, shoving Riser into the brick tiles, which cracked underneath them.
Riser grit his teeth, and turned his head to glare at the man holding him down. His eye flashed for a moment, and Alex felt a surge of magic power.
Alex flung himself to the side as a mini barrage of fireballs dropped from the sky, aimed right at him. The flames looked like they would hit Riser, but they curved at the last second, following after Alex.
Alex quickly fired off a strong gust of wind, which weakened the flames as they closed in on him, before ultimately extinguishing.
A brief silence hang in the air as the two combatants stared at each other, thinking of their next move.
Finally, Riser charged again. But this time, he lifted his leg and swung it at Alex's head. Alex scoffed, and threw a kick at the same time, also aimed at Riser's head.
Alex raised a hand, and caught Riser's foot right before it could strike his head.
"Oh?" It was Alex's turn to be surprised as he felt a grip around his own foot. A smile found it's way to his face.
Riser smirked at the rook as he held his foot in place. He wasted no time using his other hand to grab Alex by the throat, forcing him to drop Riser's leg. "Don't expect Riser to be so easy to defeat."
He barely finished his sentence before Alex grasped his arm with both hands, and used it to spin his body around, landing a powerful kick to the head with his left foot.
"That's good." Alex said as he spun again, kicking the exact same spot with his right foot.
Alex landed back on the ground and lifted his left leg, before bringing it down, burying his heel in Riser's face. "It gives me the opportunity to refamiliarize myself with more of my old techniques."
Riser scowled as his back hit the roof again, and looked up with a glare, only for his eyes to widen.
Alex's left fist was inches away from his face, simply resting there as his right hand was pulled back.
