Last day in the mansion

"Z, kailangan mo ba talagang umalis? Our house was huge, if you want si Jose na lang ang mag-momove dito"

For the tenth time, my mom wouldn't stop scolding me, while I was packing my things. I just want to be independent at labas na si Javier don.

"Mom, Javier was with me because dad approved it. And I know na hindi rin kayo papayag if ako lang mag-isa sa condo"

"Jose was still a guy!. Who knows kung anong p--"

"Stop it mom! Wala hong ginagawang masama si Javier. Even me, do you think itotolerate ko yung ganong actions?"

God! I can't believe na sasabihin yon ni mom! Javier was different from other guys I've met before. And by now dapat kilala na ni mom si Javier. He's not that kind of person!

"Inaalala ko lang ang magiging buhay mo sa condo. Kung maaalagaan kaba ni Jose? How will you so sure na kaya mo nang maging independent?"

"Mom, I can! Just please, just this once. Kung hindi ko ho kaya, uuwi ako"

I didn't expect na ganito ang bubungad sa akin, pagkapasok ko pa lang sa room ko. I thought dad already talked to her. Mabuti na lamang at hindi ko sinama si Javier.

"You're really stubborn."

I heard mom's heavy sighed, while I was busy getting my clothes.

"Lolo said it too, na sayo ako nagmana"

I'm proud, siguro nasa dugo na talaga namin ang pagiging matigas ang ulo. Just like cliff. Pero mas malala naman yung sa kanya.

"I'll go with you. Gusto kong makita ang tutuluyan mo"

What?! I mean, wala ba siyang work today?

"Fine."

"Magpapahanda ako ng food kay Nay Sabel. Hintayin mo ko sa living room, I'll just take a shower"

I just nodded and umalis na rin si mom. Actually hindi ko naman dadalhin lahat ng gamit ko. Of course magtitira pa rin ako ng ilang clothes just incase may family gathering sa bahay.

After I've packed all my clothes and such ay bumaba na rin ako sa hagdan para tawagin si Mang Tonyo sa garahe.

He's busy talking to his phone and I think kausap niya yung family niya, so hinintay ko munang mag-end yung call, bago ako lumapit sa direksyon niya.

"Ahm. Mang Tonyo, tapos na po akong mag-impake. Pakilagay na lang po sa kotse yung mga gamit ko"

I politely said, and bakas sa mukha nito ang gulat dahil sa biglaang pagsulpot ko. Oh my! Did I scared him?

"Ahh sige po ma'am."

Mang Tonyo, opened the main door for me, before we parted our ways. Dumaan muna ako sa kitchen to look after Nay Sabel na busy na ngayon sa pagluluto. She's my nanny for years now and leaving her here makes my heart in pain.

Mas close pa ako sa kanya kesa kay mom and dad. She knows everything about me. And surely, siya ang isa sa mamimiss ko.

"Iha! Andyan ka pala. Anong gusto mo ipaghahain kita?"

"Wala po nay. I just wanted to see you. Besides, aalis na rin po ako mamaya."

By just saying those words, her tears began to flow. Napakababa talaga ng luha ni Nay Sabel. Even small things can make her cry. But now, this thing was bigger and deeper than what I expected.

"P-pasensya na i-iha. Hindi ko lang inaasahan na aalis kana pala sa mansyon"

Before, I thought ideal life na ang pagkakaroon ng luxurious na buhay. That because I'm a Herrera, I can do everything. But I realized na hanggang ngayon andito pa rin ako. I was hiding in my parent's shadow.
