"It's time to put you all to the test," Vilkas says by way of greeting the next day. "The Silver Hand has returned somehow. And they plan to attack Whiterun itself, in an attempt to kill us, the Companions."
"Why is that?" asks Vorstag.
"They're werewolf hunters. We - the members of the Circle - Red, Farkas, Vilkas, and I, are all werewolves."
"Whoa," says Xylene. "I want to be a werewolf. How can I be one?"
"If we survive this fight, we will let you join the Circle. So long as it is what you want," Red says.
"Why wouldn't it be what we want, though?" I ask.
"The beastblood you ingest in order to become a werewolf makes it so you go to Hircine's Hunting Grounds when you die. For some, like me, it is a paradise," Aela says.
I notice how Farkas and Vilkas look at each other. I'd bet anything that they know something we don't in this scenario - but what? I'd ask, but it seems like now isn't the best time. So I stay silent... for now.
"... it is ultimately up to you, your choice entirely," says Red. "We aren't going to force you into becoming what we are."
Suddenly, Ria, one of the Companions who is also still just a Breton girl, approaches us, so we all stop the werewolf talk. Ria looks panicked, and I see Njada Stonearm behind her. They are both out of breath.
"What's wrong, girls?" Red asks them.
"The Silver Hand.... They're here. In Whiterun. Now."
Red swears under her breath. "Pick a Shield-Sibling and go to the streets. Never leave your Shield-Sibling's side, as these people are very dangerous. They killed Skjor and Kodlak, so make sure to protect yourself and your family."
I look at them, seeing Red and Farkas team up, Aela and Vilkas, Xylene and Vorstag, Ria and Njada, Athis and Tovar, but me?
"Safi, you can join us," says Xylene.
I nod and step up beside them.
"Time to go," Aela says.
We move out.
