Farkas and Red have paired up. I am paired with another Wood Elf, like me, who is smaller than I, and skinny. I don't know his name, he won't tell me. But I decide I do not care. Only two of us will make it out of here. I honestly don't know what I want anymore.

Do I want to join my family in the afterlife? Or do I want to make these Silver Hand assholes pay for all they've done?

I run up behind one of the other prisoners. I pull the knife from my boot and slit their throat with one fluid motion. Their partner, a Breton, whirls around and strikes me across the face with his fist. I stagger back, but then, the Wood Elf from earlier jumps between us, taking a sword through the chest .... all for me?

He collapses, dying on the dirt, and the Breton smirks at me.

"Have you made your peace, girl?" he asks.

"I won't be dying today." I throw my knife, and it lodges in his throat. He collapses to the ground, clutching his throat as blood pours down his hands.

I jump up, hurrying over to the dying Wood Elf.

"Did you seriously save me?" I ask him.

He nods weakly. "I had to."

"What? Why? Who told you to?"

"I was supposed to die today," he croaks. "To save you from death. Make ... them all ... pay ..." His eyes shut, and his head lolls to the side.

Suddenly, arms are thrown around me. I elbow whoever it is in the gut with all the force I can manage. I whirl around and face an Imperial woman. She glares at me, holding two daggers in her hands. I lunge at her, slicing into her flesh with my own bloodied dagger.

I turn around and see it.

There's only three of us left now, Red, Farkas, and I.

One of us has to die.
