Farkas finds me in the arena, and I nearly cry.  It's a melancholic feeling — seeing him okay, but also knowing he is here. I run to him, wrapping my arms around him. Farkas wraps his arms around me, holding me against him, but only briefly. He releases me and steps back, looking at me closely.

He takes in the purple ribbon tied around my wrist, and he sees the plain leather armor and sword with a bow and arrows. He seems to come to a conclusion, and then, he steps back. He walks towards the end of this section of the maze and turns back to look at me.

"Come on," he says. "You aren't doing this alone."

I follow him through the maze, until suddenly, the walls change, and we are separated from each other.

"Farkas!" I cry, banging on the wall separating us.

"Red!" he yells from the other side.

Suddenly, something is there, behind me, and I turn around and see a pack of wolves surrounding me. I draw my sword and face them, backing up against the wall. I could morph. I could take on my wolf form and rip them limb from limb. I could do it.

Two wolves lunge at me, and I stab one in the heart as it jumps up to bite my throat. It howls its death cry, and I throw the wolf at the other two on my left. The wolf on my right snarls, and I snarl back at it. It runs forward, and I sweep my sword, slicing its legs and then I cut its throat.

The wolves are all dead in a couple minutes, and then, I am running through the maze again. I run and run until my legs want to give out, and then I keep going. My lungs burn for air, and I try to breathe.

But it is seemingly impossible to do so, as I run faster.

I kill three skeevers and one bear, one sabre cat, and another two wolves. Then, I finally make it to the purple flag in the arena maze. I sink to my knees as I clutch the flag to my chest, crying like crazy.... on the inside, of course.

It all happens too quick.

Someone runs up behind me, I turn and rise on my shaking legs, and then, Xylene appears from the maze, wearing a gray ribbon around her wrist, and leather armor just like me. She runs, not seeing my sword. She runs and impales herself on the blade.
