Elseyf Star-Blade, or Stormblade, leads us through the camp. She leads us to meet her Second and Third, those who she would bet her life on and those who she lets take control if she's incapacitated. Thalrica the Tiny, her Second, is small like a Wood Elf, and fierce like a sabertooth cat, and Asta Star-Thief, another Nord who is small, but a little taller than Thalrica.
Stormblade calls in the people for all of the surrounding area to come, as well as those in other Holds. Once they come, I call a meeting.
Rune, Sinbil, Lydia, Relfire, Imarea, Gwynlyn, and I take the front with Stormblade and her two friends.
"Those from Falkreath Hold, say something," I say.
"Yaaaaaahhhhh!" cries at least twenty-five of them.
"Whiterun, rise up," I say.
"Yeah! Yeah! Yeah!" shout at least thirty-five of them.
"Riften?" I call.
"Yah! Yah! Yah! Woooo!"
And that's the rest of them, save for around ten.
"Where are you from?" I ask, gesturing to them.
"Solitude and Windhelm," they say.
"Very well," I say. "Ready for this debriefing?"
They cheer, and so we (the leaders of each unit of this rebellion) as well as my group of friends, and Stormblade and her Second and Third, all gather in the large tent meant for the generals.
"Alright, Ularik, you've got the field," Stormblade says.
"I'm making some changes to Ulfric's original plans," I say.
Shocked expressions all around, but I ignore them. I look at Sinbil. "With each city conquered in the name of the Stormcloaks, we will allow both Khajiit and Argonian peoples into the cities. Anyone who has an issue will report to their local Jarl, who will then decide what to do on the matter. Open racism is harassment. I've heard that since my father's death, Rolff Stone-Fist has been worse with his attacks on the Dunmer in Windhelm. He will he arrested if he continues. Everyone who calls Skyrim their home should be welcomed here with open arms, not treated like monsters or pariahs. The Orc population can leave their strongholds if they wish, without fear of persecution from the local Nords."
Sinbil grins at me.
"Furthermore, anyone who has a problem with my decision can answer to me, and I'll make sure they get the idea through their thick skulls that this isn't a matter that is up for debate. Skyrim will be free, but in more ways than what my father had thought. In fact, I think I know exactly who should be Jarl of Riften, since apparently Laila Law-Giver has been killed. I think it should be someone who isn't a Nord, Imperial, or Breton. Anyone who has an idea, please come forward. Maybe we should keep it within the local population, or bring someone else in? But I think it should be up to the people, not just some random person loyal to one person and one only .... themselves."
"What of the Thalmor?" someone asks.
"They will be dealt with accordingly," I say. "Anyone who is taken by the Thalmor is likely headed to their embassy, they have prisons there. Either that or Northwatch Keep. So we know where to hit them, if and when they strike us."
"How do you know all this?" asks someone else.
"I was at the Embassy before," I say.
"As was I," says Imarea. "That is how I was given the name Thalmor-Slayer."
Some people look uncertain about her, Rune, and Relfire. So I step forward again.
"Just because she's a High Elf does not mean she is an enemy. Doesn't mean she is a Thalmor. That goes for Imarea, Rune, and Relfire here. Just because Sinbil here is a Khajiit does not mean he is a thief. Does not mean he cannot be trusted within the city walls. This is the last time I will say this; We will not be letting anyone becoming a victim to the racism of Nords. Nor will such things be allowed from the elves, Khajiit, Argonians, etc. No one should be mistreated simply because they may have a different appearance to you. If they're nice to you, be nice to them. Don't say something you would not want said to you."
Cheers sound, and a smile crosses my face.
"We march on Windhelm tonight. No civilian casualties, unless it is completely unavoidable," I say. "We will retake the city of Windhelm by sundow tomorrow."
Cheers sound again. "We can do this. We will save Skyrim from the Imperial plague."
Cheers all around. I smile. We can do this. We have to. For the sake of Skyrim.
