When they remove the blindfold from my face, I find myself in an underground cavern. I'm in a cage, in the back of the cavern, and I'm surrounded by Forsworn. Men and women all decked out in their Forsworn armor walk by me, and I even see some Briarhearts.
I sit on the floor of my cage, and I watch as they go about their day, ignoring me. I don't mind that they're ignoring me, but it's a bit weird. Why did they bring me here, if they aren't going to do anything?
Then, a man walks up to me. He had long, white hair. He is in full Forsworn armor, and he smiles at me.
"What is your name?"
"Safilrah M'ith-Si," I say.
"I'm Madanach, King of the Forsworn."
"Why am I here?"
He kneels down before my cage, looking at me intently. "You're here because I want you here. I have a plan, you see, and you're a part of it."
"Why me?"
He smiles. "Wrong place at the wrong time."
My blood runs cold. He had them bring me here because I was in the wrong place at the wrong time? What are they planning on doing to me? And is anyone going to help me, or am I going to die here?
"Are you going to kill me?"
"No," he says. "But you might wish we had."
I stare at him as Madanach stands up and walks away. These people are insane. What do they want from me? I look around, trying to figure out if I can pick any of these locks. I don't even know how to pick locks, but I have to try. This could be life or death.
Whatever they have planned for me won't be good. So I need to get out of here as soon as possible. But that is easier said than done.
