Nero's eyes slowly begin to open as he hears voices around him. But, unfortunately, he is barely able to make out what they're saying.
Voice 1: "Come on, bro. You cant be serious. You mean to tell me that this kid is just like you and me?" This voice sounded more laid-back.
Voice 2: "He inherently has demonic capabilities. Even as he is now, he has a strong demonic presence within him, much like we were." This voice sounded cold and sharp, like a sword.
Voice 3: "You saw what he looked like out there. His devil trigger was more human than both of yours were." This voice was the youngest compared to the other two.
Voice 2: "Indeed, but the form is an extension of what you choose to be. We knew what we were when we activated our forms in the past, so our forms took on that appearance. His form appeared more human because he didn't know what he was, so he clutched onto the idea that he still is human."
V: "That's enough. It seems he is awakening." Nero recognizing the voice as his guidance counselor.
Nero slowly sits up from the small couch inside of V's office. He holds his head as he feels a sharp migraine. Getting a chance to look around the room, he sees V sitting at his desk with the book he always reads. Griffon, perched on the couch looking down at Nero, spotting the large black panther sleeping on the floor. He also spots the girl he fought against near one of the bookshelves lining the room's wall. His eyes then go to the window at the end of the room as a boy roughly the same age as him, stands looking out the said window. He has snow-white hair tied in a ponytail, a sheathed blade that seemed to glow slightly in his hand, and strapped on his back a white and gold spear to his back.
V: "Nero, it is good to see you alright. How are you feeling?" Closing his book.
Nero: "I'm doing fine, counselor, just a slight migraine. W-where are those other two I heard." The girl looked towards the white-haired boy with a surprised expression on her face. "And who are these two? What happened?"
Voice 3: "During your match with her, you succumbed to your anger and triggered something you didn't know you had. In doing so, I had to step in and stop you from hurting someone or from hurting yourself."
Pyrrha: "You probably don't remember much. My name is Pyrrha Nikos, and I was your opponent during the match. Over there is my husband, Falke Branwen, and he was the one that knocked you out."
Nero: "Wait, married? But your both the same age as me?"
Falke: "That doesn't matter. What matters is what we do going forward."
Nero: "And what might 'WE' be doing?"
V: "Teaching you to control your demonic power, Nero."
Nero: "Demonic power? Wasn't that what those other two guys were talking about earlier?"
Falke: "Those other two, what did they sound like?" Moving to take a seat across from where Nero sat.
Nero: "Well, one guy sounded like he couldn't care less about what he was talking about." Pyrrha was snickering a little. "And the other guy sounded like he had a real stick up his ass. But, in all reality, he sounded like a real history teacher. If you catch what I mean?"
Falke: *sigh* Turning towards Pyrrha. "Yep. He heard them alright."
Nero: "Heard who?"
Nero falls out of the seat he was in when a bright blue figure and a bright red figure appear out of nowhere in front of him. Both figures appeared to take on the forms of human beings, and both were giving Nero death glares.
Blue figure: "So I'm a history teacher? Well then, allow me to 'teach' you what happened to the last person who chose to mock me." Five spectral blades appeared around Nero, causing the young huntsman to tense up.
Pyrrha: "That's enough, Vergil, and I better not see you do anything either, Dante." Vergil scoffing as he de-summons the blades
Dante: "But I didn't do anything." The red figure was failing to hide the clenched fist behind his back.
Falke: "Nero, this is Vergil and Dante. They are devil hunters who existed a very long time ago. Due to...certain events, they both became bound to Pyrrha and me. The reason we are here is that you are exactly like them. You three are both half-human and half-demon." Nero's face becoming more confused than it already was.
Dante: "Look for a very long time. There have only been two Devil hunters. Me and Vergil, and we died a long time ago. So we were baffled and concerned when we found out that you existed."
Nero: "Wait, so how do you know I'm one of those, 'Devil Hunter'? I only took the nickname cause my semblance resembles that of the demons in the old children's tales."
Vergil: "Your semblance is nothing more than the ability to have your demonic 'arms' take physical form. But when you fought Pyrrha, she managed to draw out more of your demonic power, causing you to activate your devil trigger."
Nero: "The hell's a 'devil trigger'?"
Falke turns to Pyrrha as she nods and places the book she had back on the shelf. Then, turning back to Nero, she surrounds herself in red light. After the light dissipates, she stands in a whole different form.
Pyrrha: "This is a devil trigger. It greatly enhances all your combat capabilities while also strengthening your overall durability and stamina. To first unlock this ability, you have to focus on an emotion strong enough to cause your demonic power to flare up." Nero stares in awe at the form.
Nero: "So you're saying I can unlock this as well?"
Falke: "You already did." Handing Nero a small tablet, the screen shows the final moments of the exhibition match.
Nero: "So I guess I did unlock it. But what was that thing that took me out? I don't recognize it between your form and mine."
Falke: "That was me. I had to go a bit overboard to make sure you'd stay down."
Nero: "So are there like multiple forms, like could I access a from like yours one day?"
Vergil: "He's saying he didn't need to use the form to knock you out."
Nero: "Oh."
Pyrrha: "Well, now that we have that settled, what do we do now?"
V: "I believe I have a proposition for you two. You see, unfortunately, Nero hasn't had the chance this year to be assigned to a team, me opting to look after him. So while you two have spent the last year and a half without a team. Theodore assigned Ms. Emerald and Mr. Oscar to be teamed with your original team members. I propose to have you three become one team so that you all can have a huntsmen team to be a part of and so that Nero can receive guidance on how to use his demonic abilities. What do you say?"
There was a long silence as Falke and Pyrrha look at one another with a hint of sadness that they wouldn't be a part of their old team anymore. Then, finally, Falke takes a deep breath and looks towards V, ready to answer but is interrupted by Nero.
Nero: "I'm generally new to this whole 'demon' thing, but if what you said is true and I could end up hurting innocent people, then I'm all for trying to learn. Even if that means I gotta be teamed with the married couple."
Falke: "As long as we can help protect people and we can trust you, counselor. My wife and I are in." Pyrrha wraps her fingers around Falke's hand as she smiles up at him.
