Chapter 8

Ben was giving a small poster as he walked into the school. He took it giving the person a small smile before looking at it.

It was a poster of the Shakespeare play that night. Ben didn't know if it was just him but for some reason the branches looked like a whole load of dicks.

It was nearing to the end of term and Ben didn't know what to actually think of this year. Shit has definitely happened this year thats all he could say.

Ben couldn't find anyone anywhere. He didn't want to talk to Otis, Maeve and Aimee were going to the the final of the Quiz competition. Eric was...somewhere, probably with Rahim. So, he was completely alone. He thought about going to support Maeve though.

Ben was sitting in the abandoned toilets looking out one of the windows. He seen people in groups of their own. Which made him slightly sad because to be honest, Ben didn't actually have a friend group he could actually stay with. People always moved and exclude him from things.

Ben noticed someone coming out of the stall "Hey! Do you have a cigarette?" He asked. The guy nodded handing him the smoke and lighting in up for him before he left.

Ben didn't usually smoke. Only when he was sad about something or stressed. "Smokes are definitely not vegan" Ben turned his head seeing Ruby. "I'm not in the mood Ruby" Ruby raised her hands up in defence "I didn't do shit. Your the one who is smoking-" "-hot. Yeah, i know. Thanks" Ruby rolled her eyes "haha your honestly so funny".

"You don't even smoke"

"I know"

"Then why are you? Especially this early" Ben shrugged "sad, bored, tense, confused" Ruby looked at the boy confused "why are you sad?" Ben sighed shaking his head. He stood up "it doesn't matter. I'm just being stupid" Ben was about to walk out when he bumped into someone.

"Amy?"

"Hi, Ben" Amy gave the boy a flirty smile "I was just looking for you" Ben rolled his eyes looking back over at Ruby who was looking at the two already. "Well, I don't want to be near you. So leave me alone" Ben said before pushing past Amy leaving the two girls.

Ben walked into the building scanning for Aimee. She waved her hand, gesturing for him to go over to her. "Hey. Have they started yet?" Aimee shook her head "No, they are just about to though" Aimee waved at Steve and Maeve holding up a board that said "Quiz heads for life".

Ben heard the audience start to clap and cheer. Not really knowing what to do, he just joined in. "Good afternoon and welcome to the grand live final of the National Student Quiz Championship. On my left, we have three time previous champions, its the knowledge knights." Ben rolled his eyes leaning over to Aimee "I just want to smack that smirk of his fucking face" Aimee nodded in agreement.

"And on my right, fierce competitors and wild cards, its the Quiz heads." Ben and Aimee both cheered loudly as Aimee held her poster up the air. Ben was pretty sure the two of them alone were the loudest in the crowd.

"Lets get straight down to it with a round on Art History. So, round one..."

"Is the right answer. I'm which city is the world's busiest airport?" The host asked. Just as Dex was about to buzz in onf of the people off of knowledge knights bert him to it. "Atlanta, Georgia, USA."
