Epilogue

"And that is how your father and I met" Ruby said to Nova—Ben and Ruby's little girl who was now 5 years old.

Since Ben had ended up with a broken hand during Ruby's birth, Ruby decided to trust him to name their baby girl and she couldn't have been happier with the name Nova. Ben explained that the name Nova meant new in Latin.

And both Ben and Ruby were onto a new path in their life. They both moved away to Canada, of course Ruby was upset leaving her parents behind but they were happy for her and she promised to always visit.

Jean was in a pool of tears when Ben was leaving. Her baby boy all grown up and already started a family. Ben stuck to what he wanted to do in life and is currently a vice detective. Ruby is currently a clothes designer and has her own brand and sometimes mostly works from home. They've got 3 dogs and a house big enough to fit the whole of Moordale Secondary.

It was safe to say that they were living a great life. Sure, they had their ups and downs but they always got through it.

"I'm home!" Ruby heard Ben say from the door downstairs. Ruby could hear Ben walk up the stairs and seen appear in the door way of Nova's room.

"I was just telling her a bed time story" Ben quirked a brow. "She told me the story about you two. You weren't nice sometimes, daddy" Nova shook her head disappointed in her father.

"Ah, so your mother didn't tell you how she was in school".

"Tell her anything about the way I was in school mark my words you will not be getting anything from me" Ruby whispered. Ben gulped. "Well, your mother was popular and everyone loved her. She was a real sweetheart, and yes daddy did some not so good things but everyone makes mistakes and the most important thing is that we're here now".

Nova looked to the side as if she was thinking. "Hm, I guess you're right" Nova said, her lisp being obvious.

"Okay, now, you've got school in the morning and daddy is dropping you off" Nova clapped her hands. It wasn't that Ben wasn't always home. He was home a lot but it was the few nights he had to work that made him miss Nova and Ruby and the same for the other two.

"Goodnight, sweetheart" Ben said as he kissed the top of Nova's head. "We love you" Ruby said next as she kissed the top of her daughter's head.

"I love you too Mommy and Daddy" Ben turned on the night light beside Novas bed before he turned off the big light. The couple walked outside and closed the door before heading to their own room.

"How was work?" Ben shrugged "ah, just the same stuff. How was your day?" Ruby shrugged "just the same stuff".

"I missed you" Ben said capturing Ruby's lips in a slow passionate kiss. "I missed you too" Ruby muttered against his lips.

"I love you".

"I love you more".

Ben shook his head.

"Impossible".

The End

Wow...so um. That's it. To be quite honest when I first started writing this book I didn't not expect it to get the recognition it did. Like at all. Honestly, I think I've been putting this book off not because of writers block but because I wasn't ready for it to end. Sure Ben made some mistakes but he is a character I hold to my heart always. And I feel like I owe those who have waited patiently and shown your love and support, I feel like I owe it to yous to post the final chapters together. I've been writing this book for 3 whole years and it's actually so damn sad for me to finally finish it but I'm proud I have.

So thank you to all of you who stuck around and have given all your love and support towards this book.

Maybe I'll see yous in another universe.
