Chapter 13

"I spoke to her" Ben said from beside Maeve on the bus. "What she say?" Ben looked down playing with his fingers "she told me that she had liked me when she was 10 too but gave up when I got with Amy then she got hot and popular and that. She also said that after we slept together all her feelings came rushing back to her. I fucked up real bad Maeve." Ben sighed putting his head on the window.

"The truth will eventually come out and she will know that you only did what you did to protect her. Amy is a crazy bitch so she will believe you either way" Ben nodded slowly "Thanks, Maeve" he said giving her a soft smile "Your welcome". Ben closed his eyes in hope this trip would be over already.

"We are at Beaumont-Hamal, a preserved battle of the Somme. British troops suffered over 19,000 fatalities here on their first day, making it one of the bloodiest days in British Army history" Ben yawned already bored "Mr.Hendricks"

"Thank you, Miss Sands. Now, some rules" Mr.Hendricks started "Rules? But you're the fun one" Mr.Hendricks said in a high pitched voice "I know, Ruby, I am, but from now on no Mr.Nice guy." Ben looked over at Ruby who squinted her eyes with a confused look on her face. Ruby actually wasn't far from him. Ben was standing beside Otis so he was close to Ruby.

"Okay, so Miss Sands will now divide you into groups." Miss Sands walked toward the students and started to divide them into groups.

"Did you hear about Ruby?"

"I know. Can you imagine getting dumped by Ben Milburn" Ben turned around facing the two behind him "Excuse me? If you've got anything to say about me or Ruby you can say it to our faces. We're big kids we can take it. Plus she dumped me" Ben defended before turning around locking eyes with Ruby's.

Ben and Ruby were both taking out of eachothers gaze when Miss Sands put them in the same group which included him, Ruby, Otis, Olivia and Anwar.

"No, Miss, he can't be in our group."

"He's a twat" Ben shifted onto his feet uncomfortably looking at the two behind him again before turning and meeting Ruby's eyes again. He gave her a nod basically telling her to do whatever she had to do.

"Its fine, miss. Its the least I could do. After all, I did break his heart" a few students laughed at the boy "that actually does make more sense now" one of them said bumping shoulders with Ben.

Ruby did feel a bit bad saying it in front of everyone but he did worse and he nodded his head telling her to do it. He also defended her.

"Otis wait up!" Ben called as they walked through the graveyard. "What do you want?" Otis's tone was harsh "is it a crime to walk with my brother?" Otis shook his head "but it is a dick move to do what you did to Ruby" Ben chuckled "are you kidding me?! You started dating her like a week after we broke up" Otis shrugged "because i can treat her better" Ben bent over and started to laugh.

"You Treat her better? You are a funny guy Otis" Otis rolled his eyes before walking up beside Ruby and holding her hand. Ben felt his heart tighten just before Otis started to kiss Ruby.

His heart tightened along with his fists just at the sight. Otis was basically shoving his tounge down Ruby's throat and Ben hated it.

Ben couldn't take anymore of the sight so he walked up and pushed Otis away from Ruby. "What are you doing?" Otis shouted "Getting your lanky ass tounge out of her mouth before you choke her to death!" Ben shouted back "like you'd even care" Ben scoffed "I do care!" Ben rolled his eyes "sure" Ben took a step towards Otis "you think I wouldn't care?" Otis took a step toward Ben "I know you wouldn't. You did just use her for sex!" Ben punched Otis right in the face making the boy fall back.
