Chapter 5

"Why do I have to go again" Ben asked his mum "because it will be good for you and your Father to bond. Plus Otis and Eric are going to be there too" Ben rolled his eyes at his mother's words. He didn't mind that Otis and Eric were going to be with them too but it was just his dad. He hated him.

After hours of trying to convince Ben to go on this little bonding trip with his dad he finally gave in when his mother promised him that she would get Otis to stop playing his stupid Titanic records.

So here Ben was now, sitting in the back of the car with his two phones. The one he used all the time and then the one he used for emergencies. It was like his main one but he had it just incase something happened to his main.

"So, any girls boys?" Remi asked his sons.

"No" they both said in unison "well, actually I have a girlfriend" Otis spoke up "yeah, and Ben likes Ruby Matthew's" Eric blurted out.

"Ooo, Ruby Matthew's. I know her father he has-" Remi started "-a good and healthy family" Ben finished he looked at Remi through the mirror shaking his head as to say "dont talk about her dad".

"Ruby is a lovely girl from what I've seen. You two must really get along" Eric scoffed "Ruby is the mean, popular girl everyone, including me look up to. She like some sort of icon. And she hates Ben. In fact she just calls him Milburn cause she doesn't know his first name" Ben rolled his eyes "Ben has liked her since he was ten and she let him use her pencil because he was late to class and forgot his pencil case. And last year he thought he was home alone-" Ben started to laugh and pat Eric on the shoulder "Okayyy, Moving onnnnn because this topic is boring. Otis how is your relationship with the devil herself going?" Ben asked changing the subject.

Otis started to talk about his relationship with Ola so Ben took this as his chance to speak with Eric "what the hell!" He whisper shouted "I'm sorry, I just got carried away" Ben rolled his eyes and huffed "yeah, no shit".

"So, according to the happy campers guidebook, we need to find a spot near a source of water." Otis confirmed.

"No. Otis, my man, you gotta put that book away. You know, we've got all the information we need right here." Remi said tapping his head "do you do alot of camping in America, Remi?" Eric asked as the four looked for a spot. "Oh, yeah. All the time. My wife Delilah and I, we... like to take our little boys out of the city as much as we can" Ben looked over at Otis who had a frown on his face hearing they're fathers words. It only made Ben angrier.

"Oh. Shh. Shh...thats a nightingale" Remi whispered.

"Where?"

"Oh yeah, Right, right there. Do you see her?" Eric took the binoculars, looking through them. "She's so Rare".

"Wow. That's, like, So pretty."

Ben looked through his binoculars before taking them away from his eyes and scoffing "that's a crow" Remi looked at his son and tilting his head a bit before moving his eyes to in front of him.

"Well, this looks like an alright place to camp. Yeah, its good ley lines, you know?" Ben wanted nothing more than to just be home right now, in his bed watching a movie on his PlayStation or something.

"Here. Get your laughing gear around this baby" Remi was holding out a flask to Eric "keep yourself warm" Otis looked up and seen his father handing Eric the flask. "Okay, I don't think we should drink,  whilst we hike dad. Its stupid." Eric took as swing of the Flask coughing when it left his lips.
