"Dude, maybe you should just text her. This isn't a good look for you" Sean said as him and Ben walked into the school. Since yesterday, Ben hasn't been able to sleep. He had been constantly tossing and turning in his bed remembering the argument he had with Ruby. Remembering their break up.

Had he been too harsh on the girl? Was it too much to break up? Could they have worked it out? Even now Ben had the same thoughts running through his mind. He missed Ruby. Terribly.

"Ben!" Ben snapped out of his thoughts as he looked to his best friend. "Maybe you should really talk to her. I'm sure she has some things to say too. Things she didn't get to say" Ben sighed "I think all was said, Sean" Sean shook his head as he stopped.

"No. You got your say. Ruby didn't get hers. I get it. She lied to you about things and she broke your trust but you didn't give her a chance to speak and things have been rough for her the past couple of years. I mean, she found out that her dad has a bad illness—yes, she told me. She fell in love with a boy she never would've imagined herself falling in love with and he broke her heart even if he didn't mean it and the truth came out. She found out she was pregnant—yes, she also told me that too. Her best friends practically ditched her. She comes here and feels out of place, like she doesn't belong. She thinks constantly about what she did to deserve a guy like you. Then she has to go through that same heartbreak again. I understand where you are coming from but do you hear what I am saying? Ruby has been through just enough as what you've been through. That's why you guys work. Because you both understand each other" Sean ranted. He and Ruby had gotten pretty close and the girl had cried over the phone to him about the twos break up.

"Sean you don't understand, okay? I put all my trust into Ruby and then I see her cuddled up asleep with my brother in her bed. And then she doesn't even deny it when I ask her if she has feelings for Otis".

"Okay, and I get that but have you maybe thought that during your rant she was in shock? That so many things were being said that you asking her that question went completely over her head?" Ben sighed "I asked her multiple times and she still didn't deny it. She has feelings for Otis. That's it. I mean, she told him about her past but couldn't even tell me" Ben said pointing to himself.

"Listen...Ruby is a girl who is scared. She's insecure about herself. Do I think that she should've told Otis? I'm not sure. Do I think she should've told you? That's a question I still ask myself. But just because she didn't tell you about something that happened years ago doesn't necessarily mean she doesn't trust you. Maybe her telling Otis was just a heat of the moment thing. It doesn't mean she doesn't trust you. Ruby fell in love with you. She loves you" Sean said as he poked Ben in the chest gently.

Ben was silent. He didn't exactly know what to say. He knew Sean was right and he hated that because it made him feel even more guilty. "Just hear her out. Listen to what she has to say" Ben sighed but nodded.

"I'll speak with her, but, right now I just need time" Sean nodded respecting the Milburn boys decision. "I've got to go, I've got criminology right now and it's not exactly a subject I want to miss out on" Sean quirked a brow "oh? You thinking about majoring in it" Ben shrugged.

"I hope".

Ben sat in his bed in his room just staring at the ceiling. Any other time Ruby would be here or he would be at Ruby's. He still needed to confront Otis about what he saw but hadn't really had the chance to yet.

The worst thing was Ben missed Ruby terribly and a huge part of him felt terrible for yelling at her the way he did when he literally got her pregnant. He had already ruined her life by that and then he just yells and breaks up with her. God, he was a terrible person.

But what if he wasn't wrong. What if Ruby did actually have feelings for Otis. Ben didn't want to look like a mug or be a placeholder to anyone. He could never do that to himself.

Ben sighed and ran a hand over his face. Truth be told, Ruby was the only one he really had. Maeve barley spoke to him anymore and they barely text. Otis is just Otis. Aimee has been busy herself. Adam has kind of being MIA. Eric hangs out with dickheads. Obviously he had Sean but Ruby has always been there for him. It was her that was with him through everything.

Ben let out a groan. He didn't know what to do. He took out his phone and hovered over Ruby's contact. Should he just call her?.

No, he can't.

But what if he got it wrong.

No, he knows what he saw.

But that doesn't mean anything really happened.

Ben felt as if there was an angel and devil on either side of his shoulders. The angel telling him he should call Ruby and the Devil telling him not to.

Ethan shut his phone off and threw it on the bed. Looks like the devil won this one.

A/N: VERY short chapter and I do apologise. Major writers block on this chapter but when I release this I will also release the last few chapters of this book which will include the end. Which we are very close to only 4 more to go and then it's done.

Again, very short chapter and I'm sorry for being MIA. I was in my last year of school and i literally need to pass but I'm here now.
