AMIELE'S POV:
"Since I can't seem to have love," I stated to myself, "I'll just sing of it."
I sighed, and began humming the melody of "All I Ask Of You".
"Say you'll love me every waking moment,
Then my head with talk of summertime.
Say you need me with you, now and always,
Promise me all you say is true.
That's all I ask of you." I sang with all my heart and soul, and someone sang back.
"Let me be your shelter,
Let me be your light!
Your safe, no one will find you, your fears are far behind you." A melodic voice sang back to me, and that's when I felt the mysterious presence. I didn't dare turn in fear that our singing together would end. And I couldn't help but have my heart flutter at his voice and presence. A new feeling occupied my heart, an unfamiliar one that I couldn't quite pin-point.
"All I want is freedom, a world with no more night,
And you always beside me, to hold me and to hide me."I sang once again to the mysterious voice, it was entrancing, hypotonic, amazing.
"Then say you'll share with me one love, one lifetime,
Let me lead you from your solitude,
Say you need me with you here beside you,
Anywhere you go let me go to,
That's all I ask of you." He finished his voice strong and consonant.
"Say you'll share with me one love, one lifetime,
Say the word and I will follow you,
Share each day with me, each night each morning," I sang my voice soaring in the darkness.
"Say you'll be with me, now and always....
That's all I ask of you." I finished, my voice getting softer and softer the longer I held it.
I stood up and turned around, knowing the mysterious man was not there. I set down the Rose and whispered into the night, "Thank you." My eyes almost tearing up with joy, "thank you so much...." I thanked him, I was truly appreciative. The new feeling constricting my chest, I still couldn't pin point it. "Phantom." I added and walked out of the cold night not waiting or wanting and answer.
ERIK'S POV:
First, I let this girl take my Christine's spot, and I reward her for it too; then I go and sing with her! A song about live too!
'But Erik, you know you feel something for her, you can't deny it...' A little voice chided me in my head. 'NO! I love Christine and her alone! This girl is just a distraction!' I tried to convince myself. 'Hmmm, a distraction that you sing songs of love to...'
I wanted to groan loudly and give up, but I couldn't interior our singing. Our harmonies were melding together perfectly, it was like we were made to sing together...
I couldn't accept that she was better than Christine, I don't think I could ever admit that. But I felt something, like she almost understood my pain, and I felt something else... That is never felt with Christine before.... 'Stop thinking of Christine! You are not with her now, you are with Amiele.' The voice chided me once more.
And then the song was over, or more like, she ended it. Although it was ended quite appropriately.
She set down the Rose I gave her, "Thank you." She whispered barely loud enough for me to here. Tears of joy threatened to fall down her face but they wouldn't come. "Thank you so much...." She trailed off, heading towards the door. "Phantom." Se added before leaving speedily, not allowing me to reply.
She knew who I was.
And yet, she didn't run in fear, she sang with me.
She treated me like a loving, human, man.
And not a monster.
'I told you she was special. Give her a chance.'
