Maura
The book remained hidden at the bottom of my wardrobe.
Adrien and I had been visiting each other for two weeks and it had been the most relaxing time of my life.
Riley hadn't even cared about about us to keep pestering about the book. His little group of friends still snickered and made comments though.
Adrien was glad that Tiffany was finally out of his hair, even if her useless flirty had changed to unthreatening hisses in our direction.
It was Friday, and Annabelle was picking me up and taking me to the school football game. I had asked Adrien to come but he said he would most likely puke if he attend one of those games.
I didn't disagree with him but Annabelle was excited to go and I didn't want to let her down.
A horn sounded from outside and I rushed out the door, only wearing a simple tee and jeans. I climbed into Annabelle's jeep and found her wearing green and black, Westwood High's school colours.
There was soft rain tapping against the wind shield as Annabelle threw me a wicked grin and pointed to the backseat. I looked over and found she had taken alcohol.
"Ugh, you are amazing." I sighed, reaching over and grabbing one.
"I know." She laughed and took off, the dying sunlight near blinding through the clouds.
"How is it with Christine?" I asked her, curious of the suspicious girl from the opposing school that Annabelle had hooked up with a few weeks ago.
A slight blush crept across Annabelle's cheeks. "It's going well." She said quietly, smiling a bit.
"That's all I get?" I grumbled, though I was happy for my friend.
"Her mum isn't exactly open to the idea of her dating girls, so it's being kept on the down low for now. But I don't mind it." Annabelle explained.
I smiled at her before turning my head to the side and taking a drink from the bottle in my hands. The houses passed by in a blur, the trees mashing into green.
"You and Adrien seem happy." Annabelle said, I could almost hear the smirk in her voice.
It was stupid how I got flutters at his name, memories of when he was inside me leapt into my mind. "It's strange, we are both so similar, but different in so many ways. I suppose that's why we can either be at each other's necks or laughing our time away." I admitted. I realised just how right it was.
Not soon after, the school game into view. Annabelle parked as we walked to the field together. The stands were already packed with students from both Westwood and the away school.
We settled down and watched the game. The cheerleaders did their dance and chanting and I could make out Tiffany front and centre.
It was hard not to notice Riley as he always had the ball in his hand, always being the one to ram into others.
I suppose he was good at what he was doing, but I wrinkled my nose and was tempted to boo with the away team whenever Riley scored.
