* one year later *
Maura
I was back in the city.
And Adrien had joined me.
Once we had finished school, both with relatively good grades, we decided it would be most convenient to move back to the city.
I hadn't scared of re-visiting the horrors of my past because Adrien was by my side every step of the way.
Ever since I was younger, I had no idea what I was going to do with my life. All I knew was that I never wanted to follow my mother in her footsteps and end up the the downwards spiral of her life.
So, I ended up going to collage in New York City, taking a course for marketing. Who knew if I was going to continue with the course, but I was enjoying it.
Adrien was attending an art school in the city, while living with me.
Our life finally had a future, one with each other in it.
We had found a spacious one-bedroom apartment, and both found good paying jobs to keep us stable throughout collage.
Both were taking up all our time, but the few chances we had alone together, we took it.
I had never felt so stable, so determined in my life. Smiling, now, at Adrien as he combed back his hair in an attempt to make a good impression on my mother, I had never been more grateful.
"What are you smirking at?" He asked, looking at me through the mirror.
"My mum has seen you so many times yet you still comb your hair." I snorted, shaking my head.
Adrien put the comb down and slowly walked over to me.
"Well, there are a few other ways we can style it." He smirked.
I reached up and ruffled his hair. "Like that?" I said, brows raised with amusement.
Adrien placed his hands on my waist. "I was more thinking of a way that has you on your back with your hands in my hair as I fuck you." Adrien said lowly.
My heart started to race at the idea. Despite being together for just about a year, he still made me feel like a little school girl talking to her crush.
I could never get enough of him.
Adrien kissed me and the whole world disappeared around us. Now, it was just Adrien and I, in our own, perfect world.
I wiggled from his grasp and hit his arm. "Stop it, we need to leave in five minutes." I grumbled, though I definitely wanted to continue.
"That's enough time." Adrien's eyes glittered with mischief.
"It's not enough time for what I want to do you with." I smirked.
Adrien grinned before turning around and combing his hair back once again. I rolled my eyes but could help but smile.
Once Adrien and finally stopped obsessing over his hair, we journeyed through the busy streets of New York City, packed with millions of lives.
