Roman's POV
All of Drew's words were ricocheting around my brain. The sickening smile on his face as he smile on his face as turned my world upside down. The terror in Janae's eyes as I squeezed her throat. The sound of her body slamming against the wall with the air leaving her body. I stormed into my house and searched for my mother. I found her in the kitchen playing with the dogs. I just stared at her. I felt like I didn't know who she was anymore. I felt like my whole life was a lie. She turned around smiling, but it quickly fell. "Well hello my sweet boy, what's wrong? Did you forget something?" She asked.
"Why did you lie?" I asked.
"What, oh honey you knew I would cook steak for the dogs. I was going to make sure they shit it all out first. They are my fur grandbabies." She laughed.
"Not about any fucking steak! You lied to me my whole fucking life. You looked me in my eyes every day and you lied. You never lied to me! I expect this from him mom not you! How could you do this to me! All this time you told me you were my mother and you're not!"
"Roman, I am your mother what are you talking about?" She moved towards me and backed away. She looked hurt by this action. I saw tears start to well up in her eyes, but she quickly gabbed my arms to anchor me to my spot. "You are my child." She stood firm.
"No I'm not. You lied. You are not my mom. Why did you lie to me? Why did you tell Janae? How could you tell my wife, but not me?" I tried to get out of her grip.
"You are my child Roman. I have loved you more than anything all your life. You are my child. You are Nicholas and my child!" She shook me.
"I'm his son. I am not your son. You lied to me. You lied for 31 years to me. Why? What did you get out of it? If you loved me you would have told me."
"Roman, my sweet boy you are my child where is this coming from please tell me. You are my child. You are my son. You are my boy. You are mine." She yelled.
"What about Oliva?" I asked and saw that she froze. "You knew she was my mother. You knew and still chose not to tell me. You allowed me to get close to her! You allowed me to let my children get close to her! You let my biological mother have access to me, her son, and still did not find any importance to tell me. You knew this whole time when Adrian's friends were coming over I would be watching my siblings! You knew! We tell each other everything. You tell me everything and you didn't find it important to tell me that she is my biological mother? That is selfish! I expect this from Nick not you!" I yelled.
"Please listen to me Roman. She didn't even approach me until after your accident."
"A year! You knew for a fucking year!" I screamed.
"We hadn't seen each other since you were born Roman. She was long gone. I thought she was dead until she showed up outside the gates. Your father told me she was dead. I swear to you Roman. I am not lying." She begged.
"I don't believe you." I backed away.
"If you lied to me, to my face, to our family, and to the world about being my mother for all of my life, what would make me believe anything that comes out of your mouth now?"
"Roman." She tried to reach for me again as tears streamed down her face.
"Bye Angelina." I stormed out of my house and took off. I passed my brother driving towards my home. I just drove for as long as possible. I needed to get away I needed to be far away from everyone. I can't believe everyone lied to me. I can't believe that not a single person could look me in the eyes and tell me the truth.
