Ussicore dropped me and I hit the floor, clutching my throat and gasping for the air that I had lost.

I looked up to see who the voice belonged to, I prayed that it wasn't Chase.

"Zachariah. Gabriel's eldest child," Ussicore looked at me then back at the warrior, "It doesn't surprise me that Annora's mother picked you as her guardian."

Zachariah remained silent and looked down at me in concern. I shook my head and stood to my feet, retrieving my sword.

"You see, boy," Ussicore began," Annora and I were just...having a chat."

Zachariah lifted his hand, a sword present in his hand, "I suggest we have a chat, excluding the lady."

Ussicore smiled, his sharp teeth digging into his lower lip,"I'm afraid-"

I swung out my sword, connecting with Ussicore's ankle. The sword was more heavier than expected and took a great deal to swing. I had aimed for his knee, but hit is ankle.

Ussicore hissed out in pain and fell to his knees.

"Go!" Zachariah yelled.

I turned and began running up the hill towards the lone angel-I had yet to know what I was going to saw to them. I turned to ask Zachariah but noticed he was in hand combat with Ussicore, his sword lying near the bank of the lake. Ussicore lashed out with his fingernails, connecting with Zachariah's neck. Zachariah clutched his neck with one hand and used his other to feel for the ground as he fell on his bottom with a thud. He spluttered out blood as he made eye contact with me, secretly telling me to continue.

I looked up to the top of the hill catching a glance of the angels wings-I was so close. I looked back at Zachariah, Ussicore was breathing hard and lifting up his hand once again. I grabbed my bow from its place on my back and aimed for the center of Ussicore's back. I released the bow and took off running, not looking back to see if it hit it's target. I hoped the distraction of the arrow would give Zachariah enough time to retrieve his sword.

A loud scream followed the stick of my arrow in skin. I cringed from the two sounds and ran to the top.

The angle's back was turned to me, their long brown hair flowing in the wind. The angel's wings opened and closed like a bird did when taking a break from flying. The angel looked feminine and small-not what I expected to be at a war.

"I've been waiting for you, la mia principessa." The woman said.

I stood up a little straighter and began walking towards the angel, something looked awfully familiar about them.

"I lot of people have been," I answered back, "But I don't really understand why."

The angel then turned to me, a bright light blinding me as they revealed them self.

I covered my mouth as I let out a sob. Tears ran down my face quickly, as if they've been wanting to do it for a long time, "Mom?" I whispered.

My mother smiled at me as she outstretched both her hands. I ran into her, wrapping my arms around her torso-the feeling of her wings odd. I sobbed into her chest as she stroked head and pulled out my messy bun. My hair fell down my back in light waves. My mother released herself from the hug and turned me to where I was looking down at the battle field. She wanted to get right to business, like always, "Do you see what's happening down there?"

I looked out across the dark landscape. Seeing werewolves, vampires, and dark warriors lash out on demons and shadows that disappeared then reappeared right behind them.

"A war against good and evil."

My mother nodded her head and looked down at me-she had always been very tall for a woman, "I want you to look a little closer, tell me what's happening behind the scenes."

"Mother," I whispered, "What happened to you?"

My mother shook her head and pointed back to the battle, "What's happening down there?"

I blinked my tears away and looked back down at the war. I couldn't see anything at first and I became frustrated, about to say something to my mother until I saw it.

A shadow figure was hiding atop a tree, directing a few demons on the ground, controlling it's movements.

"Evil is being controlled." I whispered, looking up at my mother, "The demons are being controlled by the shadow people."

"Correct," my mother said, "But you see the good. They're fighting with their heart in control. Every human and creature down there is fighting for someone, that's our advantage."

A tear escaped from my eye and I quickly wiped it away, wanting to stand proud in front of my mother, "Why are you here?" I questioned, "Where's dad?"

A look of remorse crossed my mothers heavenly features, "He is trapped in the underworld. Every fallen angel goes there when their died unless they are rescued."

"How are we going to get him?"

"Let me worry about that now. When I need your help I shall return to you," my mother pulled me close and kissed my forehead, "And remember, I want grand-babies soon."

With one last smile she began to slowly fade away.

"Mom!" I cried as her grip on my hand began to loosen and fade.

Soon after he touch disappeared, she was gone. Darkness taking her place.

A loud grunt came behind me and I quickly did a 180. Ussicore was behind me, struggling to get up the hill and to the top where I was. He grabbed at the arrow still plunged in his back, he retrieved it and yanked it out, making a sickening snap.

"I'm afraid you might need this for that one final shot." He grunted, tossing the arrow at my feet.

I bent over and retrieved it, sticking it back in the bow. I aimed it up high and positioned it between his eyes, "The last shot will mean your death, are you sure you want to give up so quickly?"

Ussicore snickered and stood up a little taller, yet not coming any closer, "That arrow will indeed cause a death, yet not mine. You see, "He motioned to the battle field happening below us, " Your beloved mate is in a bit of trouble. My toughest fighter is...well, see for yourself."

I quickly ran to the edge of the hill, looking down. Chase was indeed fighting with a demon in his wolf form. I cried out his name as the demon sliced it's finger across his stomach. Black smoke leaked from the cut and Chase howled out in pain, the demon leaned in for the kill, yet was taking it's time.

I looked back at Ussicore, my only arrow in the bow still raised.

I made my decision then, deciding who's death would be more beneficial.

I then released the arrow for the third time that night, killing my second evil.
