My mother sat on the edge of my twin bed. It was covered in pink roses and littered with stuffed animals, mostly wolves. My fascination with wolves started once my mother began reading me this book.
I grabbed my favorite black wolf with coal eyes and hugged it tight as my mother pulled my covers up to my chin.
She grabbed the big book from my night table and opened it to the first page, dust flying up as she did so.
I always wondered why the book was always dusty, my mother never kept it in my room, she always said it belonged in her book case in her office, that I had yet to see. It's as if she had a million other books like my story book that she never touched but admired...or remembered. My mother cleared her throat and
began to read, "Once upon a time there was a young, teenage girl. Her dark hair spun behind her as she stood on too of the tallest hill. She looked out over the night and kept watch. Making sure no one came across her people: the werewolves."I clutched my wolf tighter and nodded at my mom, as if I understood.
My mom gave me an innocent smile and turned the page, "She stood tall with her gear on. The metal and leather hugged her like a second skin. Some say it was too worn but she claimed it helped her win many wars-"
"How'd it help?" I interrupted.
"Her father made her armor from hand. He labored over her armor for years, sewing, and hammering. Her father was murdered and it's all she had left of him."
I felt sympathy for the girl as I asked another question, "But she had a mother right?"
My mothers face turned hard as she shook her head, "Her mother was killed with her dad. By the same person."
"What'd she have left of her mother?"
"A necklace. A necklace with a wolf standing in front of a full moon, howling."
I gasped, "You have one of those!"
My mother nodded and smiled, "Something similar."
My mind drifted back to the girl and I yearned to know if she ever had someone to love. The question ate away at me until I finally asked while my mom finished the book and shut my lights off, "Did she ever love anyone else?"
My mother leaned against the threshold with her arms crossed, "She did. Many say it was her soulmate that found her."
I nodded and cuddled back into my bed, "Night mommy."
"Night il mio piccolo."
I awoke to the sound of soft snores. Opening my eyes I giggled as I was mere centimeters from Chase's face. He crinkled his nose as my breath hit his face. He raised his hand and laid it over my mouth and turned his body around, to where it wasn't facing me anymore, "Chaseee." I groaned, as I pulled on his arm.
Chase hummed and pulled the covers up over his head.
I sat up and pulled his covers down. He shivered and wrapped his arms around his bare chest. I giggled and pushed a strained of his growing hair out of his closed eyes. He sighed at my touch and cuddled up next to me.
I stroked his bicep and bit my lip, "Chase, I know what we need to do."
Chase raised and eyebrow but didn't open his eyes, "I see your awake." I giggled.Chase shrugged his shoulders and laid in his stomach.
I bit my lip at the sight of his long, muscular back. I smirked to myself as I came up with a plan. I slowly placed my hand on his back.
"Uhh!" He yelled shooting up in bed and grabbing my hands, throwing them off his body.
I laughed aloud and covered my mouth as he sat up.
His hair was sticking up in numerous places and his eyes were puffy from sleep. He glared at me, "Your hands were cold."
I laughed aloud again and hopped on top of him, "You wouldn't wake up!"
Chase leaned back against the head board as I straddled him. He began to rub his eyes, "Why are your hands so cold?"I shrugged, "It must be a human thing." I giggled and kissed his cheek.
"I guess I'll have to warm you up." He said with a devilish smirk.
"Wha-?"
I screamed as Chase switched our spots and put his body weight on me. His giant body consumed mine and warmth rushed through me at the position, I blushed as I started pushing on his chest, "We have a lot of things to do today."Chase game me an incredulous look, "Like what?"
I ran my fingers through his hair as I looked up at him, "I'll tell you once we get dressed."
Chase smirked, "Id rather undress-"
I covered his mouth before he could say anything further that'd deepen my blush, "Chasey get off me."Chase's eyes darkened at the nickname and he growled possessively and gripped onto me, "Not if you keep talking like that."
"Chase." I warned.
Chase groaned and fell off me, flopping onto his back. I got up from the bed and climbed to my feet, "I'm gonna take a shower and get dressed. When I'm done you better be ready."
Chase raised both eyebrows and his hands in a surrendering way. I giggled as I made my way to the bathroom.

I stood in the front of the mirror and smiled at my reflection. This part of me looked clean and healthy. And it's all due to Chase. I wrapped the scarf around my neck and headed downstairs where I met Chase.
He wore dark jeans with a north face jacket, his hair was covered with a blue beanie, matching his jacket. I swooned at the sight of him. He bent down and gave me a quick kiss, "You look great. Now where are we going."I grabbed a hold of his hand and opened the door, "To my home."
