A cold breeze awoke me.
I slowly sat up and rubbed my eyes. I don't remember making it home last night. I look at my atire: my school clothes.
Okay. So the werewolf didn't change me. I let out a shaky breath. Looking around my room I noticed the window was slightly open, he must have left it open when he brought me home.
...how did he know where I lived?
Wrapping my arms around myself I stood up made my way to window. Closing it, I peered out the window. The woods looked normal, nothing out of place...as far as I could tell.
Just as I was turning around something caught my eye and a sudden shiver ran down my back. The figure was back, and he was staring at me.
Right outside my window underneath my big oak by the tire swing was him. Staring up at me through his cloak. I quickly closed my currents and held in a scream.
Why is he following me? Who is he? Why?
I fast walked back to my bed and jumped under the blankets quickly.
Just go to sleep and it'll be morning before you know it.
Just as I closed my eyes I heard and ear-piercing scream.
...it wasn't human...
~~~~~
The morning sun woke me this time, blinding me from peeking between my curtains.
Sighing I slowly got out of bed. Another day of school. I made my way to the curtains and slowly opened them, welcoming me with the sight of the bright sun shining from above the mountains.
I stole a glance at my big oak. I don't know what I'm expecting to see. He wasn't there and I knew he wasn't. I guess I just needed to reassure myself.
Closing back my curtains I headed towards my bathroom.
After freshening myself up I walked to my closet. Picking out a sweater and boots I figured I dressed warm enough and cute. Just right.
The house is eerily quiet this morning. Walking downstairs I didn't hear the usually clatter of pots and pans as my mom tried to cook. Standing in the arch way to the dinning room I didn't see my dad, sitting at the head of the table with a robe on reading the paper. It actually looked like his seat hadn't been touched, the whole house didn't.
Jogging to the kitchen I found the light off as well as the coffee pot. Weird.
Opening the garage door I was surprised to see both my parents car gone. That's when I really started to freak. Taking a deep breath I ran back into the kitchen.
Please have left a note. Please.
I sighed in relief as I saw a little yellow sticky note attached the island in the kitchen.
'Hi honey, sorry to have left with no notice. Your father and I have been called out of town to work on business. We'll be home soon. Have a great week of school. Lots of love xxx Mom and Dad'
A great week? So I won't see them for a week?
A cold chill ran down my back. Since when do my parents get called out of town. They're both veterinarian's, the only vets in this town.
I glanced at the microwave clock. 7:30.
Grabbing my back I headed out the door, locking it behind me. Looking at my house it felt cold and lonely. As if it held no family.
Sighing, I began down the sidewalk. Making sure to stay close by other students walking to school.
Don't stray too far today, Ar.
"Hello. Aronna. How are you this fine day?" I scratchy voice said. Interrupting my reading.
I squinted at the class rooms lights as I looked up at his tall frame. Reed.
"Uhm, hi. I'm doing good...thanks for asking." You've never talked to me before. Is what I wanted to say.
"That's fantastic. Mind if I sit be you today?"
I hear a faint growl from in front of me.
Looking up I caught the black eyes of Chase. But he wasn't looking at me. His angry glare was fixed on Reed.
Looking back up at Reed I frowned as I saw him smirking at Chase.
"Uhm you can if you'd like. I'm not much of I talker though."
Reed chuckled and took a seat next to me...or should I saw right next to me.
He lazily laid his arm on the back of my chair, "I don't mind much. Just tell me to shit up if I talk too much." He winked.
How bout if you're too close?
I blew a strand of hair out of my face and smiled sweetly at him, "Will do."
"Okay class. We'll finish our discussion of Brutus today. Would anyone like to add something?" Mr. Tutore said.
A girl in the front raised her hand, a faire to be exact. She spoke in her high pitchy voice and that's when I blocked it all out.
Reed laughed beside me and leaned closer to me, whispering in my ear, "Hard to pay attention to what she says when your ears are bleeding."
I giggled and covered my mouth as Chase peeked at me over his shoulder. The look he gave me shut me up. For some reason I wanted to oblige, not liking the look he sent me, it didn't feel right. I liked him smiling at me like he did yesterday.
I closed my mouth and looked ahead towards Me. Tutore.
Ignoring Reed for the rest of the class.
