In that moment I realized that I was possessed. Possessed by love, fear, and anger. Love being for Chase. Fear being for confusion. And anger for being frustration.

My mother had returned to me and didn't answer my questions: possessed by anger. Ussicore made me choose between my love or my destiny: possessed by fear. Shooting my last arrow at the demon attacking Chase: possessed by love.

I watched as my arrow, covered in Ussicore's blood flew through the air and hit the demon straight through the heart. Chase looked up at the source of the arrow killing his opponent. He growled loudly up at me, causing me to turn around just in time to see Ussicore charging at me.

He swung his fist, connecting with my jaw. A loud crack followed after the first hit, making my eyes water.

Ussicore's face became fuzzy as I looked on at him, I was having a panic attack-from being possessed.

"You're special, Annora." Chase whispered, tucking a piece of my hair out of my face.

"I don't want to be." I mumbled, trailing my finger across his chest.

"What's wrong with it?" He asked, concern etched all over his face.

I dropped my eyes from his gaze, "I don't like being seen."

Chase grinned, "You've always been seen by me."

I giggled and buried my face in his chest, "What are you talking about? You never noticed me, you were always enchanted by that cheerleader."

Chase kissed my forehead, "That's where you're wrong. I've always known about you, I knew you were special-not just to the world, but to me. I just needed to wait for the perfect time to help you make yourself known."

I kissed his chest, "I love you."

"And I love you." Chase whispered, closing his eyes and falling into a much needed sleep.

"You're all I ever needed." I whispered, a tear running down my face.

I fell to my knees in front of Ussicore, he snickered down at me and kicked me-nailing me in the ribs. I joked on air and fell on my side. My shoulder scraping the earth.

I saw my mothers face.

"You see that ship?" My mother asked me, pointing out across the sea.

I was currently fifteen and my father, mother, and I were on vacation at the Bahamas. Our last vacation together for a long time.

"Yes." I said, distracted by a sea turtle making it's way into the water.

"How do you think it stays bounded and doesn't move?" She asked, tapping me on the shoulder.

I looked up at her then to the ship, "An anchor, duh."

My mother pulled my hair away from shoulders and laid it across my back, "Remember that. A person needs their own anchor to stay bound and sane."

I looked out across the sea and studied the boat, "Who's your anchor?"

My mother giggled like a little girl and pointed to the only man in our life who was currently trying to teach himself to surf. Turning down the offer of the instructor because 'a real man figures it out by himself'.

"That would be my anchor," She looked down at me with a sparkle in her eye, "One day you will find your anchor and he will be everything you need to stay sane. Remember that in times of distress."

I opened my eyes a split second after Ussicore kicked me and came face to face with a fury leg. The wolf above me panted and growled at Ussicore who had an evil smirk on his face.

"Another obstacle I have to go over? I'm afraid your guardian was no match for me and now your soul mate?" He chuckled and popped his long bony finger, "Why this should be fun."

I moaned out Chase's name as he lunged for Ussicore. My vision was slowly coming back but raver urging seemed to merge together. A yelp came from Chase and I struggled to get to my feet.

"Chase!" A strong voice yelled snapping everyone's attention to the man.

Zachariah stood tall, a long gash running from his left peck to the bottom of his rib cage. Yet, he didn't wince when walked towards the two men who were surprised at what they saw.

Utter shock was on Ussicore's face as the three men now dived into a verbal fight.

That's when I saw my chance.

I grabbed my sword that was lying next to my feet and brought it to my hip. I dragged myself, army style to where I was hidden behind Chase who was now in human form. Zachariah and I made eye contact as Chase and Ussicore were yelling profound things at each other, he nodded at me.

I stood to my feet slowly still hidden behind Chase and took wobbly steps towards Ussicore. I raised the sword above my head, a certain glow coming from the tip of it.

I brought the sword down, scratching Ussicore's front causing him to groan in pain. He bent down letting Zachariah have the chance of bounding his legs with rope, tying it in a not. Chase lashed out with his extended claws, catching Ussicore across his right eye. Ussicore screamed out once again and covered his now bloody face with both his hands. Zachariah then bounded his hands together.

Ussicore tilted his head up and screamed loudly, causing the war below us to settle.

I took the only chance I knew I would ever have and plunged my sword into his chest causing an unsettling peace go throughout the dark night.
