The shock of the news made me fall back against Chase. Hunter left my arms and ran over to Luke, who had Daniel wrapped around his neck. Am picked up Hunter and stroked his back as he buried his head into her shoulder.

Chase caught a hold of me and placed me on the couch behind him where he protectively stood in front of me. He began talking to Reed but I couldn't get myself to listen. The knowledge of my parents being dead was hard enough and now Reed and his clan want to take me to them so I can identify their bodies. But, what did I expect? To just through their life away and try my best to remember their smiling faces? The image of my parents bodies would never leave my mind, but I had to do it. My mother always called me her little warrior and I needed to live up to the name.

"I'll do it." I whispered as I looked up from my teary eyes into the dark ones of Chase who's jaw was clenched along with his fists. Chase grabbed my face with his large hands and had a silent conversation with me through his coal black eyes, "I have to do this." I whispered more quietly so he could hear.

Chase gave me a strained look but nodded his head. He helped me to my feet and wrapped a protective arm around my waist, "Take us there."

Reed frowned and picked up a picture that was lying on top of the fire place, "I'm pretty sure the news was only for Annora and I asked her to come alone...with me."

I cringed, the last time I went somewhere alone with him he got angry and left me, to soon be kidnapped by a murderer: my parents murderer.

Chase growled, "The last time she went somewhere with you she got kidnapped."

Reed shrugged his shoulders and began walking towards the front door, "Very well. Let's go."

As I followed Chase out the door Am shot me a warm smile as Daniel and Hunter waved. Luke was mumbling something under his breath about vampires. I smiled at his frustrated face and grabbed his hand, giving it a light pat, "I'll be fine."

Luke dropped his shoulders, "I know. I just don't like how he treats you, you're our Luna."

I smiled at his concern and was pulled into a tight hug by Am, "I'm so sorry. I can't believe this is happening, " She gestured towards Reed's retreating back, "And the way he's treating you is awful. I just wanna-"

"You guys are acting like she's going to war, calm down. Let's go cupcakes." Reed popped his head back into the house and shot everyone a disgusted.

A loud growl came from Chase's chest and Luke grabbed a hold of Am and placed her along with the boys behind her, "Keep talking to us like that vamp I won't think twice about getting that cross over there and jamming it into your face."

Reed seemed to get a little paler, if possible, but kept up his confident facade, "Do remember, fellow weres, I'm doing this for Annora."

I grabbed a hold of Chase's hand and began following Reed out the door, Chase soon got in front of me and put as much distance between Reed and I that he could. Looking back I saw the sad face of Hunter and Daniel as they watched me go and almost teared up as Luke had Am crushed up against his chest, you could hear her cries from down the path, the sound haunted me as we got in Reed's corvette and headed down the dirt road. Chase glared out the window with a strong grip on my hand and I couldn't help but feel that something was going to go terribly wrong.

"Their bodies were found out there." Reed pointed out the window.

I lifted my head up from Chase's chest and looked out the window into the woods. A nauseous feeling came to me and I suddenly got a headache, I've been in these woods before...it's where Chase saved me from the cellar, "Chase." I whimpered as I grabbed a hold of my thumping heart.

Chase's face was unreadable as the car stopped and he got out, bringing me closely to his side as Reed led us back into the woods towards the underground cellar. The wind around us blew furiously and made eery whistling sounds as it passed through the limbs of the trees. Leaves were lifted off the ground and flew around us until settling back down on the ground or lifted towards the lake that you could see glistening through the brush and trees. The man didn't take me far from the party house that night.

Men appeared up in distance, they were kneeling over something and had many briefcases and scalpels in hand. I felt sick to my stomach as were approached closer. Chase turned me around in his arms to where his back was facing my parent's dead bodies, "Are you sure you want to? No one's making you, we have plenty of other people that can identify their bodies."

I shook my head, "I need to see them, it should be my job to figure out what exactly happened to them."

Chase reluctantly nodded his head and turned his body to where I could see my parents. I gasped aloud and covered my mouth with my hands, Chase was instantly at my side and held onto me as I felt myself slipping onto the ground. My mother was dressed in her Sunday dress as my father was dressed in a suit, as if he was leaving home for work. My mothers face was bruised as was my fathers, evidence that they had not went with a single blow to the head but with struggle.

A man that was inspecting my mother looked up at me with a sad face. He was abnormally pale with blood red lips, his hair was styled into something you would see in the 1700's and as were his clothes. He was obviously a vampire that has been on this Earth awhile, "My dear, your parents, were killed with great struggle...it wasn't something that was planned out thoroughly. Do you see your fathers knuckles, "He lifted up my fathers pale hand, "It shows evidence that he threw punches and collided with something hard, both hands are broken. And as for your mother she was beaten and then stabbed in the chest..."

"What killed my father?" I suddenly asked.

The old vampire sighed, "We're not exactly sure. We believed he was human and your mother was a witch but that doesn't seem to be the case. Your mother was indeed a witch, a very powerful one at that, and it seems that your dad was a, well the best term I can come up with is beast, but-"

"Just say it." Chase growled out.

"Your father was a fallen angel. It wasn't easy for him to die so whoever did this was awfully very powerful."

I looked at the vampire and frowned, "That doesn't make sense. You're saying my father was once an angel then fell? And married a witch? How- how does something like this happen?"

"You're only familiar with the common supernaturals, fallen angels tend to be secretive so no one has much written of them in books." Reed said as he climbed up the steps of the cellar I was once held in.

"Where were my parents bodies found?"

Reed pointed down towards the cellar, "In there."

My stomach once again fell and I felt like I could throw up any second, "You mean when that man held me hostage my parents dead bodies were right under my nose!" I was hysterical at this point. I felt the sudden urge to run, run away from everything. Chase caught a hold of me and didn't loosen his grip.

The older vampire from earlier shook his head, "Your parent have only been dead for a few days, not weeks. You kidnapper lied to you."

I screamed causing Chase and all the vampires to cover their ears and fall down onto the ground. My screams didn't cease though. I felt like I needed to do this, like it was some kind of sign I needed to get out. Chases screams grabbed my attention, "Nora stop!"

I closed my mouth and fell down onto my knees next to my mother, I grabbed a hold of her cold hand and hugged it to my chest. Tears fell down my face like a stream and I couldn't seem to stop. Chase grabbed onto my back and tried pulling me back but gave up when I wouldn't budge, "When I thought they were dead they were alive, chained down somewhere scared for their life. I-I can't believe-"

Clapping pulled me from my trance and I felt Chase tense behind me, the vampires were also quiet.

"Well this is quiet the show, but I'm afraid it's my turn to take Annora now." A scratchy voice came from ahead of me.

Lifting my head to look at him nearly made me scream again. It was him.

The man with the shadow.
