Chapter 17

"Wow...don't you two look like a hot mess." I groaned as I heard the annoying voice of Luke in our doorway.

I snuggled into Chase's bare chest as he lifted his head up to face Luke, "Can I help you?"

I could already tell Luke had the biggest smirk on his face, "No, can I help you? You two need anything? Coffee, breakfast, some clothes?'

I giggled at his disgusted voice, "Just turn around and let me put some one."

I looked up from Chase's chest and raised an eyebrow at Luke, he nodded and turned around, facing the door. Hurriedly getting up I threw Chase his boxers and pulled his tee over my head, all the while feeling the black eyes of Chase on me. 'Quit.' I mouthed to him.

He smirked and reached out to me, pulling me back onto the bed, "Okay, Luke. You can look."

Luke turned and frowned at us, still lying in bed, "Gee, I'd hate for you to get up." He took off in a full sprint towards Chase's bed and belly flopped at our feet, "So what are we doing today?"

Chase frowned, "We? You have a mate too, go do something with her."

Luke shrugged his shoulders, "After she found out she's pregnant she told me we can't do stuff like we used to. That we need to take 'precations'."

Chase gave Luke a dumb look, "Do you want a healthy baby or-"

"Aminiti is pregnant?" I screamed, "How come I didn't know?"

"Uh- cause we don't like you?"

I threw my pillow at Luke, hitting him in the face.

Chase laughed and kissed my forehead, "I know what I'm doing today. Do you?"

I raised an eyebrow at him, "What are you going to do?"

Chase shrugged, "I'm gonna go do some studying and searching."

I looked between him and Luke, "Then what does that leave me to do?"

Luke shot up from the bed and rested on his knees, "You can stay with Am while Chase and I work."

Chase shot Luke a face but nodded as if liking his suggestion. I huffed, "Maybe I will. She's so much better than you two."

I got up from the bed and headed out the bedroom door smiling as Chase yelled, "You don't mean that!"

"Hey, Am." I greeted, taking a seat on the bar stool. She was seated across from me working on a scrapbook.

She lifted her brown eyes to mine and smiled widely, "Annora! I felt like I haven't seen you in ages." She leaned over the island and gave me a hug, I cringed as her stomach rubbed against the table.

She noticed and gave me a concerned look, "What?"

"You're pregnant."

Her face lightened up, "Yes, I am! I've been meaning to tell you but I hadn't had the time, I imagined Luke would run his big mouth and tell you...which I guess he did, sorry."

"It's alright, it's true I haven't had much time out of Chase's watch. Is Luke that possessive with you?" I asked as I went to grab a glass of orange juice.

Am shrugged, "He was when we first met, then he figured out that I'm the type of person who doesn't get out much or is sociable. It really hasn't been a problem, I guess."

I laughed at how much alike we sounded, "I'm the same way! Chase just hasn't figured it out."

She smiled at me but said nothing as she continued with her work, leaving me time to look around this magnificent house. Pictures were hung all on the wall with smiling kids and some elders. My eyes landed on a picture of Luke, Am, and Chase all standing in front of a bonfire smiling. I laughed at the picture of Chase with his too short swim trunks and wild brown hair. Am appeared behind me and began laughing too, "Luke and Chase made a bet that day and Luke won. The bet was to do something stupid, what Luke is best at," I adored the way she spoke of Luke and wondered if I looked the same when I spoke of Chase, "Chase had to wear Luke's little brothers trunks and jump in the lake. It was 20 degrees outside that night."

I raised both my eyebrows, "I would never do that. The cold and I don't do well together."

Am laughed at me and led me down the hall, "Would you like to meet Luke and Chase's brothers?"

I gasped, "Chase has a brother?"

I felt a little sick to my stomach as I realized we both knew little about each other and still did what we did last night. The feeling was overbearing and I gripped Am's hand, "I feel like such a bad person."

Am laughed, "Don't. You're still new to the whole mate thing and stuff start to go too fast, but don't ever regret it. Okay?"

I nodded as she sent me a warm smile and led me into a room. Toys were stacked in neat piles and the walls were colored a bright green. Little kids were running around in circles and playing while others were seated at tables drawing. A woman with blonde hair and blue eyes smiled at Am and I as we came in, she outstretched her free hand that wasn't holding a child, "Hello, Luna. I'm Cassidy, the pack doctor. It's so nice to finally meet you!"

I greeted her back and couldn't help to stare at her as she worked with the kids. She only looked my age and her white knee length dress told me she was not too old. Am caught me staring and explained, "Her father was the pack doctor, he died a few months ago...leaving the job to her."

"What about her mother?"

"She had no medical experience, but she helps in the day care, she's in the next room with the babies." Am motioned to the closed door.

A brown curly haired little boy, about 6 ran over to me and latched onto my leg. His eyes were a dark brown as he looked up at me, "Hey, sis."

I threw a pleading look to Am who only watched with a wide smile.

I looked down at the boy and awkwardly patted his head, "Uhm...hi."

The little boy began clawing at my sides, picking him up I placed him on my hip, "What's your name?"

The little boy smiled at me with his crooked teeth, "I'm Hunter. Chase's brother."

Oh, that makes sense.

"My names Annora." I smiled back at him.

He nodded his head, his curls bouncing, "I know, Chase told me. You're his mate so that kind of makes me your brother."

I laughed at his determination and looked over at Aminiti. She had the hands of a little boy and was swining him around. He had blonde hair that was jelled in the front, making his hair end in a point. He was obviously Luke's little brother and his green eyes proved it. Am swung him onto her hip and he placed his hand on her belly, where he began rubbing up and down causing an 'awe' from Am.

"Luna, this is little Danny. Luke's 5 year old brother." Am ruffed his hair causing a groan from the little boy, "My names Daniel, Luna. And I'm 5 and a halfffff."

I giggled at his attempt to sound older, "It's nice to meet you, Daniel."

He reached up to hug me and then returned to Am, where he reached his hands up for Am to pick him up. A tug came at the bottom of Chase's shirt on me and then a pull on my shorts, "Nora! My hug was better wasn't it?"

I smiled down at Hunter, my heart nearly melting at the nickname. I bent down to pick him up but was interrupted by a loud bang on the door a deep voice coming after, "Annora!"

"In here." I yelled back placing Hunter on my hip and meeting Chase in the hallway.

His eyes were wild and his hair was up in many places, he looked as if he ran a mile to get here. He grabbed a hold of my hand and breathed, "T-there's someone here to see you. I'm so sorry."

I gave him an odd look, "Chase, what are you talking about?"

He grabbed my hand and tugged, "Just follow me."

He dragged me into the living room where we saw look and a man. The man's back was to me and he was talking on the phone. Hunter nervously looked around the room as he gripped my shirt. Am carried Daniel to Luke, where he stood with open arms, she ran into his arms as Daniel wrapped his arms around Luke's neck. I grabbed onto Chase's arm and looked up at him, "Chase?"

"Annora. It's good to see you again, I'm sorry for that party but I have some troubling news." Reed turned around and placed his phone in his pocket.

Chase growled and placed an arm around my waist. Reed ignored him and grabbed a hold of my hand, "We found your parents bodies."
