The knife plunged into the demons chest, making an audible crunch. The creature howled in pain and slumped to the floor as the one behind him shot it's head in my direction. It began to stalk towards me.

I grabbed the nearest bottle I could find in the bookshelf next to me head and threw it at the demon, it hit his head and shattered into pieces causing the creature to stop and shake his head. I had stunned him.

I took my chance and ran towards the stairs. This would be my only time to escape. The demon hissed behind me and I could hear it's hard feet run across the floor. I let out a scream as it's long fingers wrapped around my ankle and yanked me back. My chest hit the staircase causing me to lose my breath and wheeze. I rolled on my back and kicked out at the demon. My foot connected with its face and I had just then noticed that the creatures didn't have a nose.

It's why they couldn't smell you. A voice said in my head.

The demon took advantage of my confusion and ran a long claw down my stomach, tearing open Chase's hoodie. I cried out at the immense pain and looked down at my stomach. The cut was deep and my body was releasing blood quickly, soaking my clothes and the floor. A black gas was coming from the gash and my vision became blotchy. I was seeing stars and darkness.

I zoned out for a second and when I opened my eyes the demon was straddling me. It's ugly face was inches from mine and it chuckled, "I knew you were in the deal. But I didn't know it would be this easy to capture you."

The demon lifted up its hands in the air. I dagger was held in his palms and aiming right at me. In one swift moment the demon brought the dagger down-

There was a sudden force that hit the demon and caused my body to jerk. I looked up at the demon and saw an silver arrow sticking out from its heart. The demon spluttered up blood and dropped the dagger. The dagger fell by my head and scratched my ear. I could feel warmth from my ear where the slightest touch of the dagger struck me and drew blood.

The demon fell off me and hit the floor with a soft thud. It's head turned towards me, "He wants you. He's coming to get you with an army. Eíthe o Theós na sas prostatév̱ei." The demon coughed up another batch of blood and turned its head to where it was looking at the ceiling. I saw its last breath leave his body.

May God protect you.

I slowly sat up, causing a sudden headache from the movement. I heard a shuffle of feet and looked up at whomever killed the demon. Standing in the staircase was a big man with long hair and spiral tattoos covering his face. His chest was on display showing me another tattoo. He moved his arm and placed his bow back in its satchel hanging from his back.

The big man stepped down the stairs and came to my side reaching out a hand. I hesitantly grabbed his hand and stood to my feet, stumbling a bit. The man caught me in an inhuman speed and helped me stand up straight.

"Who are you?" I asked, wiping my bloodied hair from my face.

"I am Zachariah. Gabriel's son and I am here to protect you." Zachariah said, standing proud in front of me.

I took a good look at him then. The sun lightened up his features and gave me a better look. His face was angelic and covered in tattoos. The tattoos covered one of his eyes and one lined underneath his other. He wore a big fur coat with a buckle at the front. There was leather straps that kept the cost on him. Another tattoo ran from his pecks down towards his diaphragm. He also wore feather earrings that reminded me of Gabriel's house in the woods.

"How'd you know where I was?" I asked, wincing as I clutched my stomach.

Zachariah seemed to just now notice my wound and picked me up in his arms, "I'll answer questions later," he paused as he grabbed my back pack, "We need to get you home."
