ELLIE TOOK aseat next to her friend Callie Torres the day of M&M unknown of her night with Mark.
"Okay, people. Let's begin." Chief Webber says and Ellie's eyes widen on the number of the patient they were about to talk about.
"Patient #34986 died last month from complications following a heart transplant. Dr. Burke will present. " Chief sit down on one of the chairs and Burke walked in front of everyone while Ellie turn to Bailey's interns with widened eyes. She heard what happened to Denny Duquette, Meredith told her.
"Cause of death at autopsy was an embolus that dislodged from the suture line of the transplant and caused a C.V.A. with a brain stem herniation." Burke finished and many doctors raised their hands.
"So the company line is that he died of a C.V.A. ?" One doctor asks Burke.
"There's no company line. That's what he died of. " Burke answers and another doctor raised a hand.
"Uh, let's get back to this, uh, patient's need for an emergency transplant. You're saying that his left ventricle had been weakened by the LVAD malfunction? " The doctor asks.
"His left ventricle was weakened by the fact that he suffered from congestive heart failure. " Burke answers calmly.
"Oh, come on, Dr. Burke." Other doctor near Ellie groaned. "We all know that the LVAD was cut by an intern."
"The exact chain of events remain unclear." The doctor groaned again.
"It remains unclear to you because you're in the E.R. with a gunshot wound. Why aren't we hearing from Dr. Bailey?" The doctor asks.
"She was the senior physician on the case. "
"I'm the attending on the record." Dr. Burke says but Dr. Bailey already starts to stand up.
"Yes... I was the resident in charge. " She says as she stood up in front of the doctors.
"Dr. Burke has summarized the medical facts on this case. Are there any questions for me?" Almost all of the doctors including the annoying one as Ellie thought about him raised their hands.
"You recently had a baby, Dr. Bailey?" The annoying one asked and Ellie's face changed from anger to confuse.
