WALKING DOWN THE ROAD her brown almost black hair tied in a braid like they always were, her eyes glossy like they were most of the time.
Today was Elizabeth Green walking home alone her best friend and almost brother wasn't with her. James Bourne had a basketball practice so he couldn't come to protect her.
The nineteen years old girl took out her keys and unlocked her front door silently hoping her father isn't there and she'll come home unnoticed.
Home. It wasn't even a home it was a house where they used to live all three of them or four when her mother was pregnant. However it wasn't a home, not for her. There were too many memories for her. Too many painful memories for her to handle.
"Where have you been?"
Her eyes closed holding back the tears when she heard a voice from the kitchen. Taking off her shoes she slowly walked in to the kitchen. She was met with a pair of ocean blue eyes what were once calm and soft but now were stormy and angry.
"I was in a library." She answers her voice didn't break surprising him and her together.
Thomas Green nods slowly and pour himself another glass of scotch. "Okay." He says and she finally looks up from the ground.
"Okay?" Her voice shaking again.
"Okay." He says again making her sure he was serious.
Thomas got up from the chair he was sitting on slowly walking towards his daughter.
"I was thinking today." Her eyes follow his moves. Every single one of them.
"In hospital there was a little girl waiting for her mother to go on surgery. She was so little maybe five or less. She almost looked like you when you were little. And she was waiting and waiting until the end. Until the end when her mother died on the surgery. "
When Lizzie wanted to open her mouth to apologies for coming home late her father cut her off by taken her braid in to his hand and pulling her head to him by the one movement. She didn't hiss or anything from the pain she just tried to hold back her tears.
"Why do you think I'm telling you this?" He whispers to her.
Lizzie didn't answer she knew her voice would break.
"Answer me!" He shouts at her making her flinch.
"I don't know." She whispers her voice shaking. "You don't know." He let go off her hair throwing her on the ground.
"I tell you why." He poured himself another glass of scotch after he drank the glass before.
"You killed your mother do you hear me? And now you're killing me." He says throwing the glass on the wall behind her.
Thomas walked towards the nineteen years old and grabbed her by her hair and towed her down the hall of their house, ignoring her screams and cries.
"Shut up!" He shouts and opened the door to their basement. Lizzie looked at him in horror. "No please." She begged silently hoping he will listen.
All for nothing.
He looked at her with an evil smile and threw her down the stairs.
She lied down unconscious, he looked at her one last time, then he locked the door and disappeared like a fog after morning.
